As the article goes on to point out, many Brexiteers are taking false comfort from the fact that Osborne has departed and the 'emergency budget' has been delayed.... Or worse from a few backwards looking economic indicators while the forward looking ones plummet.
But they shouldn't....
Hammond will now almost certainly be forced into taking on huge additional debts to try and put the economy back on track in the Autumn statement - a high risk strategy for the country that will burden people's children and grandchildren with additional debt - because as the IFS and BOE have already identified, real damage is now starting to occur in the economy and we haven't even left yet.
An analysis of the costs of Brexit was released this week and showed it's entirely likely we'll end up paying more to stay out of Europe than we paid to stay in - only with no say in the process or veto over the rules.
The Brexit vote remains nothing other than an act of economic and social vandalism.... Which will have terrible consequences to Britain for generations to come.
The remain group lied and used negative tactics throughout the campaign; when I decided to remove all of that from my considerations, I found that they had actually said nothing at all; it was probably the worst campaign I've ever seen.0 -
I actually find your post very rude and patronising Hamish Mctavish, We are all entitled to an opinion but yours is just plain ignorance at its best.0

Do you have no moral compass whatsoever?
does it not appall you have people have no clean water supply
that children walk for an hour to collect filthy water
that they can't go to school
and to know that many of these people are suffering simply and ONLY because you vote for a EU had artificially puts the politics of german and french farmers above that of simple trade.
It is quite appalling. It's just that you aren't convincing anyone, even your UKIP voting, Brexit choosing, buddies, that you could care less about it yourself.
The 'Brexit will save the world' sound bite was one of the numerous official justifications (or lies as they are otherwise called) that emerged from UKIP Central that even they were so uncommitted to that it promptly was forgotten about amidst the swivel eyed xenophobia. Which is what they are much more interested in.
I appreciate it must be hard for you swimming against the tide at all those UKIP rallies as your Oxfam and Save The Panda leaflets are trampled under foot by purple faced retired colonels but really Clapton, if you want to do something to help the disadvantaged you need to take a look at the company you keep.0 -
You know when this all goes 'tits up' The Brexiteers defence will be 'The govt shouldn't have given us the opportunity to vote out' I am already hearing it
I must say I have some sympathy with that though. A disgrace to gamble with the future of this country to gain a few votes
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
Well i, for one, believe in this country.
We will be great again. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Could you please share with us what "again" means? Which period to you believe we were a greater nation than now? Which period are you hoping to emulate by becoming great "again"?0 -
