He flew into Vancouver. All I know is that he is somewhere in BC. I have had 4 texts. No calls. He is having a lovely time meeting up with lots of people who taught or supervised him / he has worked with / or has met at conferences over the years.
Plus it reminds them he exists if a job comes up.

Well! After spending the week losing and gaining the same stupid lb, today I am down another one!Woo hoo! still annoyed that if I were a mere 6 inches taller I would be a normal weight. Height is soooo unfair.Anyway, onwards and onwards. Going to see a Siouxsie and the Banshees, and The Cure tribute band tonight. Will be home for the Euro Voting, but I saw the semi-finals so I know what I will be getting.Got 3 bags of dirt from the garden centre yesterday and 6 geraniums, that now identify as pelargoniums - who knew?... I have done the grocery shopping with all the vouchers, so less than £10 spent on food this week and the fridge and freezer are full. Total voucher haul was £45. Still have £8 of S&M vouchers but will use those as work food while I am next away. The yard is looking very nice, I have a little section of wall 1.5m x 0.5 that needs some kind of planter, but I don't want to be blocking any air vents, so might need to make 2x 60cm x 40cm planters instead, will decide and action that tomorrow. The misbehaving beans have now decided to live. Well, 3 of them have - all purple french beans. Sowed another 6 yellow french bean, and 6 green french bean. Very old seeds, but nothing ventured and all that, and the rest can go live in the bin if these don't germinate either. No sign of any cucumbers, or gherkins, but I might have a rogue stray pumpkin in amongst the rogue stray potatoes that seem to be everywhere. DH must have dumped his potato compost into the containers to top them up. We are going to have potatoes everywhere! Oh well, free food and all that. The strawberries are swelling but have no colour as yet. The rhubarb is rhubarbing, the lavender looks like it is about to burst into flower at any minute. I have to keep reminding myself it is not even June yet, I am just well ahead of myself. The herbs are all going crazy and the flower beds are all full of green. I bought 2 pots of sweetpea as my seed did nothing. 6 plants in each, both half price, so £1 a pot. All planted out ready to go.Tomorrow I will make the planter(s) and fill with soil ready for whatever decides to grow. I have nastertiums everywhere! They keep popping up in the strangest corners.I have 3 little avocado pips thinking about growing (never worked before!) and the beans, and 6 date stones in a pot sealed in a plastic bag. Extra cucumbers sowed too. I bought one plant for 99p, if I get two cukes I will be in profit.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I am getting together a nice little pile of stuff in the hall, to go to the recycling centre at the tip. I think I will do that tomorrow. I sorted out some tennis racquets and a squash racquet from the shed - not really been used since we moved here, so they can go to the charity shop. 4 cushion inners that have never been used can go too. The kerbside recycling went out this morning and all the bins were emptied yesterday. The washing up has been done, I am trying to distract myself from being hungry. It isn't working. My motivation is still high though, so it is a shake for supper for me, I might push the boat out and have a cup soup later. Wowzers!Still at 12.10, I was 12,9 on Sunday, but it came back. grrrr! how very rude of it. I don't care, I am keeping on going.Went into the kitchen this morning to make cup of coffee number two, got distracted by watering the plants outside, and talking to the bee that comes and drinks from the puddle every time the watering can is filled....and ended up with a drill in my hand making another planter. Then I went and looked in the shed for things that can go. Came back in and remembered I was supposed to be making my coffee, so did that. Then had a look in the pantry for metal baking tins past their best, or that I do not use, and those got separated out too.I am heading in the right direction. I am just an impatient baggage.Oh, and I asked the builder to come back and quote to finish off everything that needs doing in the house.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

All the big cardboard, metal, some wood, and some hard plastic has gone off to the tip. More than a boot full so I had to put the back seats down.Went to the community fridge and got some bread, watermelon, oranges, kiwi, limes, potatoes,4 bags of salad leaves, 2 avocado, 2 bags of watercress, and 8 tomatoes, plus 2 apple turnovers, which are in the fridge until someone nabs them. 2 packs of sweet chilli tofu pieces too. £0 spent.Had to go to the supermarket for onions and breakfast cereal and kitchen roll. though. Small shop, lots of nice ys things. So very hot in my little car though. Ended up spending less than £20.The cuke has thrown out another leaf today, the courgette has also thrown out another leaf with another one coming. The fuchsia are full of leaves and buds, ready to explode into colour any day now.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Another lb down. 12.7.
DH was driving to the supermarket for his camping trip provisions, so I got a lift in with him and walked the 3.5 miles home as 'exercise' it very kindly did not rain on me. Saw a strange old man with a walking stick and a cleaver hacking at a tree by the side of the road 🌳 . Odd, even for round here.
Bumped into one of my 80+ gentleman volunteers outside the library.
Today has been a good diet day.
Watching a very silly Mission:Impossible film.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
