I just wallpapered our dining room this past week in paper with gold sparkly leaves and flowers on (stupid time of year to do it!)

Oh good! I am glad the MSEs still do it.  I could not believe that nobody still did it themselves.  

 I was in the Big Orange Warehouse this morning and met lots of people I know in the car park, none of them seemed to be buying anything.....

 It is the time of year for it. The tree comes down, the house looks shabby, there is still a week before going back to work. Perfect timing..This time last year I was lagging the loft and boarding it out ...  the weather is awful here.

Tomorrow I will be painting the ceiling twice, and then painting the 3 walls that have lining paper on them (just a colour change for those) and stripping and papering the fourth wall ready for painting on Thursday.  I have extra screws for the dodgy floorboards the  last lot of electricians absolutely massacred - should have realised when they put the carpet back themselves.

All the bills go out tomorrow, then I will know where I am.

We are home DIYers too. Although we aren’t nearly as productive as you!

We ripped up our awful decking over summer and started laying a patio. But then we all got ill, then went on holiday, then DS1 started high school and life got logistically quite complex. So we paused it until the weather is better to work in.

We also have an allotment and I seriously need to get my but down there as soon as this storm is over and crack on with some work.

That reminded me of the time I got to step-grans house to be met with a couple of tonnes of gravel which had been dumped in her gateway that morning ( she told them to leave it there but had no idea quite how much she had ordered) I had to move it before I could park the car on her drive. The neighbour was up in arms as while my car was parked on the shared bit next to the mound, she had to walk all of 10 meters if she wanted to get in a taxi. Which she didn't need to do that day anyway. Oh the squawking! 
Not the only time I gravelled the drive either. Still, it would have been nice to have been asked!

DH totally brought it on himself. I did enjoy watching it though…it was glorious.

I am sat on bare floorboards in the empty living room. Ds2s bedframe is in my bedroom along with my bed and a wardrobe.
So carpet fitters will do DS2s room first. Then come downstairs and do the living room, while we shuffle the beds and wardrobe in to DS2s done room, then they can do my room and then the hall. 
Hope they come soon. 
DH is trying desperately hard not to chunter grumpily. He has his ' cat going to the cattery' face on. 
I have no idea what time they will be here.

We do nearly all of our own decorating and DIYing. We only pay for people when we absolutely need to like plumbers or electricians and even then only when we absolutely need to. We will put in sinks and taps and DH can move plugs and light switches.

Apparently they will be here 'around lunchtime probably ' so that could be anything from 11.30 - 2.00. 
Have I mentioned how much I hate waiting? 😞. 
I do like a new carpet though....and I like putting a room back together again.
