Okay, no more paid work until end of January. So I am going to progress with the house stuff.
Tomorrow is the big fat service and MOT for my little car. 💰
So I will walk to the carpet shop and buy and book in the last two upstairs carpets. They are big rooms so will be over £400 each fitted with underlay. Will look at a living room carpet too while I am there💰
Wednesday is the volunteers Christmas Party🥳
Also Exam certificate picking up day ✅
Thursday is more volunteering 🥳
Friday is last day of school🥳🥂🎈🥂
Monday is Mr Small's 15th birthday🥳🎂🥂
Also the last foodbank session for a whole week! (we are only closed for one public session).
Paid work, erm, shenanigans are going on. I am not getting involved. Not taking the bait. Not reacting. I would have, if I were reliant on being paid on time, but I have the luxury of not living pay cheque to pay cheque. My buffer means that there is no panic if someone starts playing silly beggars. I know what is going on. Besides, I always take a photo of my timesheet/ expenses before handing them over. They can't catch me out! This is not my first office politics power wrangle.

Right, today I pulled on my Big Girl Pants, I will have 4 rooms carpeted on the 8th of January. This should considerably help with the cold rooms that have suspended floors. Thick underlay and thick fluffy carpets. Put it on my credit card and will pay it off from January's housekeeping.That will leave only one room left to sort, and I might have that one done in wood flooring, so that can be done when the kitchen floor is dug up, the damp proof course put down, and the whole thing gets concreted and takes months and months and months to set, and wood flooring put down from the back room, through the dining room, through the kitchen, and then tile through the utility and bathroom. Long thin Victorian house.I contacted the bathroom planning lady as well. Will finalise measurements and stuff tomorrow, then she can do her wizardry and I will know exactly how much this stuff will cost and I can book it in.So far I have spent £121k paying off the mortgage, having the loft extension built, re-roofing, new boilering, and carpeting. The house does look good in the bits I have finished... or mostly finished. I need to go round the house with a 'snagging list', there are a few tiny jobs in some of the rooms I should just get on with and do.Went to a work Xmas social tonight , was quite fun. Took the bus there and back as no car. Hopefully car can return to me tomorrow. That can go on the credit card and come out of my wages/expenses from last week, and a little bit of January's housekeeping.M0rrisons has 10p veg for Christmas, I absolutely loathe the store though, might go wild and just buy the 15p Sainsb0bs veg instead. I'll push the boat out. 15p broccoli is not to be sniffed at!So, things moved on a little bit more today.Sadly DS2 is being a twit again, and DS1 is just his usual passive self.
