Still on NSD #7 as I had to buy a birthday card. Tomorrow should be one though, as I bought the birthday card todayWork today. I stayed warm by wearing 3 tops and 2 pairs of trousers
The shop has no heating. Just as well it isn't a fashion shop though!
Only jacket potatoes to cook tonight, and a salad to cut, as I made lots of food yesterdayI need to bring boxes of shop stuff downstairs so I can take it in tomorrow, do a load of washing to peg out tomorrow (hopefully) and wrap a birthday present. Happy to sit by the fire for now though.0 -

Ho flippin' Ho!But those tights do not look comfortable...
good news re DS3 interview - fingers crossedDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

The call for voluntary redundancy has gone out at DHs institution. They need 120 to go. If they can't get enough, compulsory redundancies will start in Jan/Feb. Whoever goes will not be replaced. They are already 8 staff down who have found jobs elsewhere/ gone off sick and we're not replaced in the last year.
It is now the case that they are covering seminars for the people who have left who were covering the seminars for the original people covering seminars for the people off on long term sickness's seminar allocation.
So his stress levels are off the roof.
He doesn't want to go for Dept Head if that means he will be the one telling people they are redundant. So that avenue is closed. 🔐
The kids have been informed that his job is not secure and they need to grow up and get jobs.
Wide eyed stares 👀👀👀👀 abound.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

redundancy is a minefield. even if you want to stay and the organisation wants your DH to stay they will have targets that may mean the spotlight turns on him, So given that the initial redundancy terms are normally more generous than the compulsory terms it could be worth him applying early once its clear. they may have to accept a request now even if they don't want to - plus the first out get the choice of other jobs before the market gets crowded. so its some difficult conversations for you!!
either go first or hang in to the end - I mean they can't fire everyoneI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine4
