I'm with you on the waiting around - I thought I would be today, but my oil delivery arrived at 6.30am and the spare room headboard at 9.30, so both out of the way before starting work.2

Fitters rocked up at 12.30 left at 3.15
All done and sofas back in the right rooms and reassembled before 5pm. Then I made supper.
The dryer didn't play ball, so DH went out and bought one this afternoon (carpet fitter avoidance therapy) while I humped furniture backwards and forwards.
Hot bath and hair washed, I have an impressive array of bruises and scrapes all over me.
I have nearly 2 weeks of laundry to process tomorrow, plus volunteering, and food shopping.

DS1 killed the dryer in the early hours of the morning drying his clothes to go to London. He didn't even get out of bed to help yesterday.
DS2 had to get up because his room was getting a carpet and I made him dismantle his bed at 7am. He did help me move my stuff, but only when asked.
DS3 came out to help a bit. DS4 was at school.
So 3 loads dried before bedtime. One nearly finished now.

All laundry that was brought down has been processed and returned to owners. I have a feeling DS4 has a huge pile in his room somewhere though... the lack of school shirts is a dead giveawayBought 24 hours of car parking space next to the hotel, with 5% off in January sale, + 30% off discount code from the hotel + a 7% cashback site discount + a cashback perk of my bank card of another 10% off. Racked and stacked and hopefully will cost around £20 rather than the original £49. We can go in and out as often as we like.The living room looks so much bigger. I was VERY glad to get home this evening and know that I won’t be going anywhere, at all, for any reason, for two days! (I hope so anyway.)

It took 4 hours to get from Leicester to Liverpool even with DH (he of the lead foot) driving. The freezing fog was pretty terrifying but looked to be just off the side of the road - Even though we knew we were driving through it. Traffic was rotten - something went wrong on the M6 somewhere and everyone joined us on the A50 instead. Rude!
Had a lovely meal, and then joined up with about 15 of the family in a pub afterwards.
