Fingers crossed they get a wiggle on. I'm not sure I believe its the C word as soon as it is, I feel like i've missed nearly every other month this year & it should still be somewhere around Sept.
I'm sure I don't need to say to you but make sure to withhold part of the final payment if there is anything outstanding as incentive for them to do it/remove it. a friend had an extension done this year, finished in Aug but as of the other week she was still waiting for them to fix her phone master socket that was part of the scope & to clear waste materials & equipment.- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted

And half an hour after that last post, I got an invoice for 1/3 of the total payment. So much for not wanting a payment schedule.
I asked about the velux, and the roof, and the windows and the plastering....... and got another invoice for the velux! Wonder if he had forgotten?
Anyway I have paid out £8,376 tonight. It is supposed to be done by 22nd, but the electrician has already told me that 2nd fix electrics won't happen if they are plastering on 22nd, because that is when they all stop, and to be honest , I would not be surprised if the plasterers don't turn up or the windows are delayed. Realism rocks!

It is coming up to DS4s birthday, he will be 14 on Christmas Eve Eve, so have been coming up with ideas of what he might like, he is hopeless, he thinks of one big thing, then has no clue as to anything else, but I have been keeping a list of things he has said he wants for the last 4 months. he has probably forgotten he wanted them, it freaks them out when I do that. They think I can read their minds. Anyway he does not know he wants 2 Premium Bonds, but he does. so there.
Genius! Mind reading par excellence...
Yes he does want 2 PB's - though you are setting him up for a life of wondering every first of the month for decades
I hope your leaks are fixed ... and all is snug for Xmas..DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Guess what! Guess what! Guess what!!Dr F-H, clever socks of this parish, has only gone and got himself invited to America for a research group thing in Octo ber! They came to him. He is going. It is for a week... He is very excited. They are paying. Hooray! His next year jaunts list is currently 2 x Swissland and 1 x USANo builders turned up today. Out of the 27 days since they started, they have been here for 13 of them.I am NOT chasing them.If they want to be done by Christmas, they had better pull their fingers out. They have eight working days until everyone stops for the holidays. If he can get his monkeys in a row, that includes a builder monkey to do the roof tiles, and adjust and fit the new size velux, and to hang tiles on the sides of the dormer, because he cannot get his roofer monkeys to come until after New Year, and he does not want to wait that long, for the windows to arrive on the 20th and be fitted,to replace the gutters they have now taken off because they have damaged them, for the plastering monkeys to do their thing the day everyone stops for Christmas, and then there is all the second fix woodwork, like doors, window sills and skirting boards, that can't be done until after the plastering, for the plumber monkey to fix the other two rads that have not worked since the boiler went in (air lock?), and to fit the new radiator.and for the electrician monkey who won't come until after the plastering monkeys.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
