£250 from the PBs and £71 expenses (I am sure you can guess how 'Earnest' some were) appeared this morning. Yay!   Still no spring or autumn ground rents though. Sent an email .

Spent an hour last night answering Party Wall issues between Architect and PW person - did I tell you the Governing Body of Party Wall Surveyors is called The Pyramus and Thisbe Society?   Literally laughed myself silly.  One for the pub quiz.

Yesterday  I heard someone say on the radio that Braverman was literally slaughtering people on the streets.  Can never find a copper when you need one.  Someone needs to sort that 'literally' issue out, literally. They can make a citizens arrest on the Govt while they are at it.

DS3 is staying home  today he is feeling rotten, and has spent 48 hours making puppy eyes at me.  DS4 was the same on Friday, but has recovered slightly over the weekend.  Another case of 'other people's dirty kid germs' after throwing them all back into school 4 weeks ago.  Won't be long before Norovirus season comes round again.....

You beat me on the pb, I got £200.  Still, it all helps.  Any change you can deploy ds1 and 2 as bag carriers and give yourself a 7 week break?

The scaffold for the roof goes up on Monday, The scaffold for the loft extension on the back goes up the last week of October.  I know it sounds bonkers to have the roof done on the bit that will have the flat roofed dormer, but the lead flashing and the bits on the side and top will still have to be in good nick, and I assume it will save time if they do not have to make sure it is all watertight.   Anyway, they are renewing all the slates,  and then 4 weeks later, will be removing some of them for the dormer.  It is all in the budget. Not totally ideal, but I will have a new bedroom by the second week of December, and it will be decorated and  someone will be in it for Xmas. The roof will not leak. We can have a massive snow fall and I will not have kittens if it rains heavily or the East wind doest blow. 

 It will also, for the first time ever, give us a Spare Room!

I actually feel physically sick. What if it all goes wrong?   It won't, but what if it does?? I will end up sitting next to Nick bl00dy F-word-ing Knowles' stupid face. Crying into my cornflakes. 

The muppets next door have rocked up, and have spent 2 whole days trying to get some very rusty,  bent and twisted scaffolding up on the back of the house.  They must have spent 4 hours with a hammer today banging and trying to get it all to stick together.  They are utter fools.  I will not be sad when building regs come round to check on mine and see what they are up to.  It might actually save their lives. 

M-i-L is trying to hijack DHs diet plans - he has lost nearly a stone in the last three weeks, I told her not to send him chocolate for his birthday because he was being really careful, so she sent TWO huge boxes of very expensive chocolates instead of the usual one  small box.  Utterly deliberate sabotage.   He is absolutely livid. I rescued them before he could put them in the bin, and they will be regifted - it is £50 worth of chocolate.  She is very naughty.

Still not put the heating on yet. It is dark at 7pm though (hooray!!)

Oh no, she was quite nasty about his weight when she came last.  She knows exactly what she is doing.  Manipulative old bat.
