Oh it is dark when I get up... and dark at 7pm, I do so love it when the darkness comes.  Can't wait for the clocks to go back and I don't have to worry about suncream,  or what. to wear, I swear I can't dress myself properly for warm weather, I take an age to get ready, but come Autumn, and the jumpers and jeans come back out, then I am happy.  It was so warm and muggy coming back home tonight at 5.30, not October weather at all.

I am over £350 in credit with the energy people after September's bill was paid, so I am in a good place for when the heating has to be turned back on, still not needed it, it was 21 degrees here today. The washing dried on the line in 2 hours, so no dryer needed either

Nope, dark mornings and a cold nose make me ridiculously happy - it takes all sorts!

Sorted out my journey to and from work next week.  I know exactly which route to take now.  I can take my time and please myself as my work friend is not coming with me.

Made a big vegetable stew and will make herby dumplings to go with it for tonight - 3 out of 4 kids have colds. Still have 12 stuffed apples and 2 punnets of strawberries in the fridge to get into them.

Folded loads of laundry, and about a million towels.

Just got a text from our GP surgery asking people to wear a mask if entering the building.  I guess the numbers are going up again if they are texting everyone.

Well that was a cheap birthday meal out! £107 for 6 people + drinks, 3 had starters as well, 6 main meals plus sides. Fantastic Indian place that the Hairy bikers visited when in Leicester.  The one with the motorbike connection. 

Everybody happy, then home for a very tiny slither of cake (no room for anything else).  

Eldest is 21. Now he is a man, he must start to make the hard decisions.

He keeps being told. So much so that I am sick of the sound of my own voice.  He is at the Centre du Job today, we will see if he has decided to join the grown ups soon.

Just emailed Mr Roofy chap, and because they have taken such a ridiculously long time to start the job I have just saved myself over £3k.  The scaffold is going up at the end of this week, and the front and back of the  roof facing the street is being done next week.  I only need the front and back of the main house roof renewed now, the side return part of the roof will be done by Mr Loft Extension who is putting up his scaffold at the back of the house ..... in two weeks.  There was a point in having a new roof when it looked like there was going to be 2 or 3 months in between, but for less than 2 weeks, nope.  So the new quote for the Roof from Mr Roofer,  has gone from £13,160.40  down to £9,552.00. and that means the bathroom fund grows by 3,600+ and that is just EPIC!!
