From my very first post -  In 2016

On the still to do list for this year 

- new roof and insulation - nails degrading! Snow could cause a huge problem. Better get it sorted really.
 This week - hopefully -  7 years later.... can't really blame Covid for that! 

- New shower and bathroom flooring - water damage, holes in floors (!) we should have moved the bath mats when we were viewing - budgetted for, funds available,  this year or January

Plastering and decorating - done

Nice carpets!! - This will be my Christmas present to me! 

Shelves! - done

          Still no scaffold.... it should arrive today........

I agree but that doesn't excuse not letting @f0xh0les know there's a problem and why they haven't turned up.

In August they said they would be on the roof in 2-3 weeks. For the last three weeks it has been 'end of this week/middle of next week/start of next week ' I am emailing them, they are not contacting me. It is getting to be very annoying.
The loft extension scaffolding is due ' last week of October' so that is either this week or next week depending on your interpretation of a calendar week 🤣
I am not taking it seriously as a slur or an insult. It is just annoying, bit workmen tend to be annoying in my experience.

Unfortunately although very annoying it is my exeperience too.  They will turn up when ready and normally late after making all of the excuses under the sun.  Seems like we can do nothing as we need / want the work done and builders are not easy to get hold of in the first place.

The roofer has messaged to ask if it would be alright if they came and put the scaffold up at the weekend - like it would be more inconvenient than a Tuesday or Wednesday?   Anyway of course I said yes.  So fingers crossed  I will be scaffolded up this weekend. 

Payday on Tuesday anyway, so in that limbo nightmare of circling through  'how much money do I have / how much money will I have after payday / how much will I have after the roof / extension /

 I only have one day of work in November, so a mere £110, and I am left wondering should I pick up another Xmas job? or just concentrate on sorting the house?  Just flapping and panicking really.
