Tested heating for 10 minutes. One rad needs a pin pop-up as it is not heating, so will set dh onto that with the toffee hammer when he gets home.

It is getting quite chilly, no more T Shirt weather, jumpers will be needed soon.

Agree there is a definite Autumnal nip in the air today - I've been out to the garage (across the drive) and my ankles got chilly (I have leggings and trainer socks on) Am wearing slippers in the house all the time to ward off cold toes 😁😁 Ooh - and I slept under the (Summer weight) duvet most of last night, as opposed to just the throw on top (both windows were still open, though)

Thoughts are also turning ti Autumn foods - faggots and mash, roast dinner, fruit crumbles, Eve's pudding, cottage pie....yum 😋😋

I found a couple of remote control battle drones in a c/s about 2 years ago, for £1, and DH had a laugh trying to get them working.  They were really for the kids, but he stole them until he flew them into my hair and I shouted at him.  They are only about the size of a large box of safety matches.  Well, I rediscovered them whilst bringing the back room into a vague semblance of order and DS3 is laughing his face off in the living room, and screaming when they suddenly fly up and scare the life out of him. 14 years old, going on 4.   He is a happy little (taller than me) camper.

This morning I got up and had crumpets while watching The Crisp Salesman and the football highlights of yesterday, and then moved furniture, emptied and took down a 5 x 5 kallax shelving unit, moved a sideboard, put the kallax on top of it and rebuilt it with the aid of monkeyboy 3.  I had asked #3 to ask #1 to come down and help, but DS1 said no, he was sleeping, so we did it ourselves. Then refilled the unit with DH's carp.   I can do no more until he puts his camping stuff away from last weekend. 

I have all s/g's stuff in boxes in the kitchen now, instead of in the living room.  The back room is still a tip, but there are now options.  I think I might just send the lot to auction and be done with it, before they get smashed to pieces in this clownshow of a house.

DH comes home late tonight.  I am quite content with what I have managed so far, tomorrow is another day (off), and I need to process some more apples into crumble.  The laundry needs folding and another 3 washes will finish the laundry until next weekend. Huzzah!

DS1 sounds like he needs a big wake up alarm to help him join the real world and be a bit more helpful if he is not studying nor working nor contributing to the family running in any way. 
Well done to DS3 for helping you.

Thank goodness - I felt like the only person not glued to the TV. 
I have an actual funeral to go to imminently, of someone I knew and loved, I felt no compulsion to spend 9hrs watching one of someone I didn't know to just be able to say 'I watched it' 
Was outside doing some stuff at lunchtime, was so quiet it felt like Xmas Day with the lack of normal background hum.

Well I patriotically made £15 on P/Academic while it was on, and re-found some more silver spoons to take to the jewelry quarter in Brum on Thursday to add to the stash.

DH is unwell, so bought him a covid test today as ours have nearly run out, by run out I mean we haveabsolutely no buffer solution left. Plenty of test strips and wands, but no flippin' solution - how??  At £2 a test all I can say is  Grrr!!

Right, going to drink a lovely coffee and then get on with the day.

I think I have finally kicked the S4G4 health insurance into touch. They claim never to have received the  posted documents requested. So I have emailed them over now. After being transferred to 4 departments, and the email link to their portal not turning up. 

Wrote and asked for a review of her pension re Widow's pension - her husband was retired early on ill health, and I cannot find a thing to say she ever received widows allowance, but then he died one week to the day before he was 60.  Not sure how early retirement works, but worth a punt anyway.  All the rules have changed over the years, so she might have been entitled to something, but they never checked back in their files, so nothing was done.  They are doing it now though, according to our MSE Lord,  the hon. Martin of Lewis.

That should end the onerous written correspondence tasks of the Estate.... and still no cheque has turned up (surprised? No? me neither!)

I've been waiting since April 2021 for my inheritance. There's no problem with it, just a truly appalling solicitor.

I signed the final "I'm happy with those figures" letter 3 weeks ago. No word since then.
