Wow, 190k...I feel flush if i have 190...but then perhaps i should cut back on the chocolate covered biscuits.
That's the thing though isn't it, we're all conditioned to 'save for a rainy day / old age / what if' that it's entirely understandable folk who can never let the purse strings loosen.
HMRC should moonlight at MI5 I think, bet they could locate anyone faster than the Spooks if there was a tax incentive added to the rap sheet.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I cannot understand how you can have that much in the bank and still be worried about putting the heating on, and be loudly worried about it too. Even with a half tank of oil outside. Did she just not realise that the rainy day she was saving for was here? There is quite a bit of anger floating about, I must admit. From me and her friends.I think the E.A will get in touch today. I just have a feeling. As I now have carte blanche to do what I like, I am going to continue as if I were the sole beneficiary. They can rotate on a pivot. Nobody rings up to see if I am alright ( I am fine, but still, they could at least flippin' ask). Pah to the pair of 'em.So, the jobs for the weekend are;Sort the headstone - get it sorted and paid for.Talk to the Estate Agent and get a sale movingPost photos of Waterford crystal glasses and bowls and vases (with no labels) and a couple of Beeleek items (Beeleek is soooooo ugly!!) and her hearing aids - the second hand market is surprisingly buoyant for them - who flippin' even knew??????? and see what I can get. Maybe swell my coffers a little. Nothing is worth much but the odd £10 here and there will make a difference and it was all headed to a skip if her Brother and Sister had anything to do with it.The headstone is going to cost £300 odd. I will claim it back from t'estate eventually, but it will take a while.Dye some fabric green with my free green dye from free survey Big River vouchers. Forest Green all the way.Plus the huge wonderful tat fest of Eur0vi$i0nAnd hopefully in the football, we will be 'the team that comes fourth' again, again, again. Shocking game last night. C.O.Y.S.In other business,I have agreed to work graduation again in August - it is the last week of the kids holidays so there will not be £70 of bus fares to pay out first either. Should be around £800 for the week. Not to be sniffed at.

It was the same with my Grandma when she died as she had generous savings but had stopped doing most of her favourite activities as she found getting the bus tiring. The family were frustrated as we would much rather she had continued to do the things she enjoyed, gone everywhere by taxi and had slightly less in savings.f0xh0les said:I cannot understand how you can have that much in the bank and still be worried about putting the heating on, and be loudly worried about it too. In her mid 90's my Grandma won a couple of thousand pounds she asked my parents where was the best place to invest it for her old age 🤣🤣 they encouraged her to treat herself and enjoy it.
As you say £800 for the week's work is not to be sniffed at.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I would perhaps guess it comes from going through wartime hardships - even if she was a child at the time, her parents would have had to manage that and if your formative years involve that - I can see how it never leaves you. That and the fact some people are born worriers and squirrels. Also I suppose there is an aspect of admitting that you're nearing the end of your time by saying 'right, I'm old enough to spend what I've been saving for my old age'.f0xh0les said:I cannot understand how you can have that much in the bank and still be worried about putting the heating on, and be loudly worried about it too. They can rotate on a pivot
Love this, more polite than middle finger in the air and swivel
My sister has gargoyles in her garden and on a roof lower than the rest of the house
Made by a friend and they are based on her husbands face
