I do hope so. Social workers in England (admittedly only the ones I've come across) only seem to have the interests of their LA in mind & not those of the cared for people or their carers. A couple of years ago one of my neighbours was sent home supposedly to die within the week. Unfortunately the ones who got landed with caring for him did NOT ask a doctors advice. 6 months later they were exhausted & had been knocked around a couple of times. They just lied through their teeth to get him out of a care home so the LA didn't have to pay.

Had a very productive day yesterday, cleaned and cleared the kids bedrooms, hoovered the whole house, cleaned the bathrooms, ordered my wardrobe, did all the laundry and line dried it - on the line!! outside!! DH is far too reliant on the dryer machine going round and round. Made a cauli and broccoli cheese for lunch, and pasties for supper. Used up loads of stuff before it went bad. Payday is tomorrow, kids mobile phone money went out early, so had to quickly make £12 on p/a to make sure there was enough in the budget for the dd's going out tomorrow.Deadheaded and cut back a load of plants that have managed to overwinter, lots of little things with sprouts on - some things look very dead, but I am not going to fall for their nonsense, so cut back and they either grow, or do not. I found a very neat row of something I planted in June for a bit of late autumn colour, but I cannot for the life of me remember what they were, as they did not grow in Autumn, they have decided to come up now, so they could be anything. Honestly, literally anything. They are green and sprouty and about 2 inches high. I shall name them 'mystery plant'.Most of the chrysanths and fuchsia have overwintered nicely. The rose campion is doing its own thing as usual and thriving on neglect. The bloody mulberry bush is covered in green nobbles, so he is ok, the lavender looks fab, so I shaped it a little, the house plants have all had a little feed and the sky is blue and the sun is shining. March is always a surprise though. Nothing is taken for granted. We watched the last of the B00k of Boba Fett series last night, and then after supper we watched Shang-Chi and the Legend of the 10 Rings (also on cheap one month offer of Disnee+). Jolly good fun. Everything else is Ukraine news coverage, we have it on all the time. Suddenly my degree and MA become relevant again.Menu plan for today - lunch = gnocchi in tomato sauce and a gnocchi in garlic cheese sauce (it is a spread that needs using up) and garlic peppers (ended up with 6 peppers after my el cheapo F&V box in Herr Liddle), supper is homemade hummus with home made wraps, watercress, lettuce, and various ends of jars of pickles. Breakfast tomorrow is overnight oats.I can only control what I can control, anything else will run its course.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well done on the productive day F0xh0les. Yesterday here was not so productive, did go out for an early morning run and then for the afternoon it was off to the pub for the rugby. I did walk to the pub though rather than driving and faffing with having to pick the car up another time. It is just under 2.5miles and took me just over 40mins, the sun was shining and it deff wasn't cold here.
Picked up some nice bits from Olio this morning incl some bits for a friend - hope they didn't think I was being geeedy. Dropped a tub of soup in front of their house which was embarrassing as the bottom broke and soup pinged out over the footpath. I did still take the broken tub home with me so it wasn't wasted and sure one of the many dogs walking past will soon scoff the remaining spillage.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I took DH out to a bed place today and lay on their beds, and had an assessment by their funky scanning machine as to which mattress is best for you. So we found the one we liked, £1,299.99 on the ticket for a king size (down from £1,450), + £49 delivery, but 10% off if we bought it today, so we came home, had a discussion and DH said it was a good idea and we should buy it.So I went on TBay, found their Dreamy factory outlet shop, and bought it for £550, Except TBay gave me a £50 off code, so I bought it for £500 with free delivery..... and it is a SuperKing. So now I have to buy a bed frame, which was on the cards anyway, as our divan has developed an extremely embarassing squeak (mind you it should after 13ish years), so really I have not lost anything. It might have a mark on it from the factory floor, but you know what? I shall not see it under the mattress protector, the sheet, the duvet, and the duvet cover!! plus I will give it a little scrub with the upholstery cleaner, and it can go on DH's side
. So I am quite happy with my little bargain (I hope I will be as happy when it gets here).
I would have bought it at full price if I could not find a bargain. But I did find one, so I do not have to.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

we just got a proper new mattress after a diversion into 2 singles (Amazon bargain) that didn't work out. Best decision - paid about the same as you also from Dreams - although I'm not sure if there is ever a moment when you can't find a deal it is nice when you doI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine4 -
