Got an email today asking me to do 6 days this time, which should be nearly £800 in my bank account for a week of work. Long hours mind, but money for old rope.Reminded people at the volunteering job that I am now looking for work, and that I am not available the week that I have work booked - I have been reminding them since I worked in November, but they do not seem to be taking me seriously. They asked me to do something for them today, and I had to remind them again that I am not available, then they say 'Oh, have you told X ?' but as I have already told X 3 times face to face and 4 times in writing, and they still insist on putting me on the rota, I do not know what else to do.Still feeling quite excited about this week. Think I really need a new bed though*, I am waking up feeling steamrollered again. No excuse not to if I am earning my own money.* by new I mean a sturdy wooden second hand bed frame and a brand new thick mattress - not like going into a showroom and saying 'that one!' Of course delivery in 27 weeks is fine!'.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Gas and electric for last month was £180 plus a few random pence. Ouch!, but the account is still in credit, and will be for next month, but the dd may not be enough after March, thank god I can usually turn the heating off during April.Looking out the window when I opened the curtains, there is a thick layer of ice on my car windows. Slept really badly - was woken by those sexy foxes again. One welcomed me home on Monday night, he trotted round the corner, practically waved and winked at me, did a tap dance, and walked off down the road. it was like The Woodland Animals were looking out for me coming safely home.Bed stripping and house deep cleaning this week to stave off the guilt of not being around next week, and the fear of coming back the week after and having to do a deep, deep clean after the mess they make. Laundry will be completed.I have bags of stuff to be recycled now, so will add that on to the school run to save petrol.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Top 2 floors cleaned all bathrooms cleaned and floors mopped. The stair curtain is up, crushed velvet and a lovely silver colour (did not want to go dark and lose any light). DH has not mentioned being cold since it went up. Odd that - he says it is a potential death-trap and is a very silly idea - so far it has weirded out 3 kids and 1 loves it and wants one on every landing. Still, he has not had a hot water bottle, or been complaining about ice-fingers since it went up. I am totally sold on the idea, and used free money to get another telescopic rod from the Big River shop to put the other curtain up behind the solid wall of 1980s frosted glass that is our front door.Still have the ground floor to wrestle into submission, but the laundry mountain is being eroded, I am making progress. I am volunteering tomorrow, and have a job fair on Friday. So the house will be finished as and when I can fit bits in, but am quite motivated in getting it done. Hooray! But first a cup of tea and some football later on.Fingers crossed it is too cold for H0rny foxes tonight - I am wrecked! and it is a school night.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Could be worse...imagine Basil Brush at it all night!
Glad the curtains have been a success.
I've had a few days off and in between doing fun hobby stuff have been knocking off some small but irritating DIY tasks thinking of you as motivation. No I don't mean you're small or irritatingFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Whilst I'm a huge fan of foxes, especially when they're frolicking in the garden and making cute chirruping noises whilst playing chase around the trees, I'm not such a fan of the 2am warbling wandering. They start off in the woods behind the garden, screaming and hollering and you can hear them get closer and closer and then sit outside the bedroom window and do it at full volume. If it's not the foxes it's the badgers snuffling and grumbling. Or a chat hacking up a hair ball.
Isn't nature wonderful!?!5 -
I had never seen a fox in my life.
Until I stayed in Bloomsbury in central London and they just seem to wander the streets there after dark. Wasn't where I expected to see a fox if I'm honest. Not giving up

We are on a terraced street, but I think they live on the railway embankment down the back of an industrial estate. Then they come wandering up to the main road, lured by the smell of the takeaway, on a cold January night, and fornicate up and down the road......on a school night.Went to the jobs fair, decided to walk down in case it was carp, then at least I would have had a wander. It was odd, aimed at kids mostly, or people who wanted to drive lorries, and no use whatsoever for me. Never mind.Had my 10k steps by 12.00, popped into the Son of Morris on the way back, and picked up a baguette for lunch. Oooh it were cold though, the cars that have not moved today did not lose their iced up windscreens at all.School run done, the weekend begins, well, the weekend will involve doing all the stuff I would normally do next week, but in 2 days in a mad rush. The highlight of my day involved DS3 coming home and trying on my wedge heeled boots to prove he is a size 7 of foot, and him loving being a couple of inches taller, and the same height as me. So he tarted up and down the landing a few times, strutting his stuff like a proper 13 year old boy, making his brothers squeal with laughter, and then tried on my new S&M ys DM style boots - writing this made me remember I have my purple steel toe capped boots in the car, I might as well share them with him, I mean the rate he is growing, by Easter he can steal his dad's
and I will get them back anyway. But for school, he needs shoes, so I must go shoe shopping. Boo!! Outside of school, he can share mine (not the heels though).

Shame he can't wear your wedges for school
That's a pity about the jobs fair, no desire to become a Long Distance Clara (assuming you watched, or at least recall pigeon street or I'm gonna look a twit)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I remember Pigeon Street, (coo! coo!)DH said my iced Xmas cake looked more like Pootle than a snowman, I think it was the ribbed bobble hat that did it.Got up early, cleared the mugs and snack plates from the living room, put away all the little bits of Xmas, that have been put into a storage crate and just ignored in the kitchen. Ooops. Now in the high cupboard. With the doors shut.Spent 2 hours folding laundry and putting it into the relevant piles - still have Operation Sock Match to do.Swept the kitchen floor, moved stuff around a bit, put things away, Drank coffee, lost the will to live after about 2 and a half hours, but then people began to appear downstairs, and the fog began to lift outside. The list has been written, I think I am going to go to the recycling facility (formerly known as the tip), and recycle all the bits and bobs, and clear the decks for the next big project - Operation Get into DH's drawers. It is well overdue. Wash the floors in the kitchen and diner and laundry nook, get a pair of size 7 shoes, hoover the ground floor, and descale the kettle and coffee maker - I have an accusatory light that has come on. The Shame!!Will fill the car with petrol,DS1 is leaving tomorrow afternoon and wants me to take him shopping for familiar food he has not yet found in a supermarket in London. This is just so that he does not have to pay for it. It has to be tomorrow as I have filled the freezer in a panic as DH will be feeding them all their supper next week, and I am just trying to anticipate whatever he might want to cook (he does not meal plan - he is wild and crazy like that)Right, stuff to do, can't sit here in my dressing gown talking to invisible people.Mind you, I am not even dressed yet. Will have another cup of tea before I head out.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
