I think places sometimes do that to get you to order other items.

I am afraid they  have all but demolished it, by the time you get here up here all I can offer you is almond and chocolate ice cream with hot caramel sauce now.   Somehow managed to end up with far too much caramel (followed the same recipe??) so now I have a spare jug-full of it.  Considering making a pecan pie type affair on Monday - that'll surprise them.

I am now craving millionaires shortbread. Which might fit in with a tin of caramel condensed milk i think has been lurking in the baking cupboard since the dawn of time...questionable on fitting in with any healthy eating 🤔

Think of it as decluttering @kerri_gt - that's my excuse for having made chocolate cookies. I needed to start using up the chickpea flour.

I'm on a healthy eating kick...current status is eating my way through all the not so healthy stuff 😂 I shall now refer to that as the decluttering stage, love it.

Step gran is back from her procedure, it is definitely skin cancer (she is metastasic breast cancer level 104 - it started 40 years ago and pops its head up every decade ) but the nurse saw another bit on another location while she was removing it, so she has to go back again.  Poor old duck really has  had no luck at all with her health, but still she carries on.  

She is utterly exhausted by leaving the house, and is going to take some pain killers and go to bed.  

I had to tell someone, and that someone, was you.

Managed to come in £7.46 under budget this week -which is just weird. I sent too much to savings, paid off the cc early, and so had to drop the budget by £20 a week, and I still came in with money left over.  Hooray for the pantry and menu planning. Shunted my £7ish to savings this morning.

Also have £7 pending on p/a, and made £7 of Big River vouchers.

Folded and returned 5 loads of laundry, so I can see my floor again (hello floor!), came into the living room, and the curtain track was broken again (the cord had come off the spinning polo on the end of the pull cord,  so had to take that down again and sort it - 2 minute job once the ladder was up - celebrated with a mice pie and a lovely coffee for breakfast.

Finally potted up DHs houseplants.  Took 2 chipped bowls that have been annoying me for ages, out of the stack of bowls, and used fim0 to fill the holes, baked it, and now they are being under-saucers for the newly repotted trees.The aloe vera seems to have had quite a few babies. All potted on and will see if they survive.

Made seeded wholemeal bread rolls  for DS4 who will not eat my lasagne (no, I don't know either), so made him hummus and he had that with salad instead. Took half the bread dough, added a tablespoon of sugar, and went totally off piste. 3 walnut rolls, 2  coconut rolls and 3 sultana rolls, they were excellent! I was just kneading random things into each little ball and thought I would just see what occurred.   Very impressed with myself and with the results!  Will do that again. I am not scared of making bread any more. 

DS3 has asked me to buy him something random for his birthday - he got everything he wanted for Xmas, he knows he wants one game, but apart from that he is clueless, so I am just to get him little things that will make him laugh.  Challenge accepted!

So, lunch was lasagne, supper is biryani, I am going to bake some little pastry cases, bake some pecans for 5 minutes, and make individual pecan caramel tarts in the mice pie foil tins that I have been saving. 

Will have to do a small shop tomorrow, but the car is still over half full of petrol, and I am feeling quite prepared for the coming week. I absolutely hate the school run already, I have football to look forward to on Wednesday, possible hot water bottle / curtain deliveries, and a Jobs Fair  at the rugby ground on Friday, which may well be an eye-opener.  DS1 goes back to his digs next  Sunday.  If all goes well,I have a week of paid employment the Monday afterward, and hopefully will have found myself a job at the jobs fair.   I feel like I am working toward something.  But all I want is a hot bath, and to not have to cook supper in a freezing cold kitchen,  but I make a fab biryani, so I just need to shut up with the whining and get on with it.

Re your curtains.  I'm a big fan of shower curtain rails.  I have one at my front & back door.  Also my blackout (keep the cold out) curtains in my dining room are on one.  I've had commments about liking my curtains but no-one has ever commented on the fact that they are on shower curtain rails.  Of course the lack of comments could be because they know I don't do drilling unless absolutely necessary & can make shelves without glue, screw or even any fixings at all!  Gravity is a wonderful thing.

Sorry I will miss the biryani though!

Note for the future, 5 mins is too long for pecans, 4 minutes is too long for pecans, I will set the timer for 90 seconds next time.  The oven was on anyway, I only did half a handful. Tarts setting in the fridge. Biryani will be ready in 25. New Vera on tv tonight -

I have a telescopic rod for the hall - it (the hall) is just under 1m wide, I am ridiculously excited about the whole thing. It feels like something is finally happening house-wise, even if it is only a small thing...and..... I cleared another meter square of the back room.
