I take that as a sure fire go ahead then,  resolve the issue of them ever deeming to stay with you again 🤷‍♀️😁

Guilty as charged.  Not even the oddest thing to have happened this morning.  My life is a travesty I have learnt to embrace.

Parcels have started to arrive for them - they save on postage by getting stuff delivered to our house so they don't have to pay EU costs.    Currently about a meter cubed have arrived this week.  Apparently a 'garden feature' is due to be delivered.   They just can't help themselves. DH has had 2 notifications this morning that DHL will be delivering before 5pm today.   So he is now tied to the house. Luckily he was not going out anyway, but still.  Last time it caused a row when f-i-l saw the size of the pile of stuff m-i-l had had delivered here as he was convinced it would not all fit in the car!  Nothing like rowing in-laws who sulk!

I have no doubt whatsoever they will come bearing ready wrapped C-word gifts for her sister, the niece-in-law, the nephews (in their 40s), and all the 2022 charity calendars they send to people, the  50+ C-word cards will be already written so they don't have to pay international postage, and they will ask if I have any spare stamps and if I can post them at the start of December.

And that is only what they have previous on, no doubt they will have a few  extra new surprises up their sleeves. 

I find if you can laugh about their behaviour before they get here, and make a rough mental  'Bingo Card' of expected bad behaviour, and you can forewarn people, then there is a lot of laughter that they do not 'get', and I can stop DH and the kids being really offended or upset by them.  But they are more exhausting than a herd of toddlers.

Dull, dull, dull.

Got up, did laundry, put laundry in dryer as the ground was wet outside  and did not look promising to stay dry. Did politics and coffee, hoovered the kitchen, cleared a corner that has turned into a dumping ground, realised the sun was out!, washed the kitchen floor, extended the table in readiness for Friday, cleaned the grot off the leaves that had been stored under the tabletop, sorted through the kidnapped clothing which has come through the laundry and is either too small, or ripped, or I just plain hate it as it does not suit them. 3 more bags of fabric to leave the house (yay!). 1 bag of books to leave the house, had lunch, cleaned the cooker top, cleaned the tiles around the cooker, washed up the lunch dishes, lost the will to live, and am on the sofa with a cup of tea and Emma.  You know it is bad when you end up on a comedy of manners .

Just spent out another £32 on PE kit, the branded stuff, because they are going into school in their PE kit 3 days a week!! DS4's branded hoody 'went missing' 2 weeks ago, nothing in the lost property. They had an amnesty  (black joggers/hoody allowed)  because they decided so late that they wanted a branded PE kit for PE days, and that runs out after half term.  The flippin' thing shrunk in the wash as well!

So next size up bought x 2, so one can be on their bodies and one in the wash.  Just bit the bullet and ordered them, am considering taking them to the T Shirt printers up the road and getting their names put on the back.  That should stop the thieving little bu88ers, not sure I will get away with it, but will ask the PE teacher/HOY  next parents' evening. You should not have to replace uniform 3 weeks into term!!!

Anyway, spent the whole day yesterday scrubbering in the kitchen. Soap filled brillo pad/hands and knees / kitchen tiles / drawer fronts type scrubbing.  Just got the laundry cupboard to do and then I am done  all the way up to  the downstairs bathroom storage dump - which I think is going to mostly end up as a fabric recycling/charity shop clothing donation. 

If nothing else, the visitors will mean that I have cleaned the house ready for winter.

Not had to put the heating on at night for the last couple of days, however, when I came home on Monday evening, it was like walking into a flippin' sauna.  Himself has remembered where the heating control lives.  It was not even cold outside!
