Oh dear! I seem to be rather in demand. How very lovely of you all. No!Blimey it is hot! The yard outside, for all its faults, is South facing and the paving stones get too hot to walk on in your bare feet on hot days - well it was a bit tap-dancey out there when I was hanging out the clothes, and the mattress topper #1 of 3 that have made it downstairs since lunchtime. Little suntrap that it is. Hoping to get them back on the beds by tonight. We had a nearly full jar of salted caramel hot chocolate powder that nobody will drink as it is just plain nasty, but it turns out they are quite happy to eat it in a sponge cake and say it is delicious . Love the look on their faces when you tell them they have eaten something they have decided is inedible.Sadly I have a lot of bananas that need eating soon - and I do have a vegan condensed milk tin in the pantry, so I could use some up in a banoffee pie, but the rest can be made into battered banana balls and the kids will drizzle them in golden syrup and then drown them in Elmle4 double cream.Volunteering tomorrow, and then off for a whole week!Did a little money juggle this morning, bills go out tomorrow, credit card paid off - paying for the stupid house insurance has made things rather tight this month. Good job I don't have much planned before 12th April, so my overheads are very low until then - should not even have to buy petrol. Just milk, bread, and cereal next week....going to have to keep it simple or the budget will be blown. Not even sure I can make a decent mortgage overpayment this month!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I found this month very tight... and then realised that I'd made a massive OP in Feb, because some of Feb's DDs actually came out of the beginning of March. So a few things were paid twice this month instead. I had £4 left in my account when my salary hit...9

DH, darling man that he is, made the o/p this month. £171.20 o/p to bring us down to £85,999.99Monthly interest was £131.73 which is £4.24 each and every single day so finally sub £4.25p.My budget is £105.03 short of what I need it to be, so I need to claw back as much as I can while the kids are off school.Making do and baking too. The house insurance of nearly £300 needed paying off the cc. Plus my energy DD has doubled due to the house being full of people who totally unreasonably expected to be kept warm. Just in time for me to turn it off at the wall. Oh well, it will clear the balance due on the account in the next three months. Then build it up again for winter.DH has just taken himself off to bed for a nap - I encouraged this behaviour, it will not do him any harm, and if he puts it down to recovering from the vaccine, all to the good.I am off work for a full 7 days now. I have a list, I just need to steam on through it and get some jobs off the list for good.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I have horrible sinus pains. I have been floored by pesky poxy pollen. Who do I write and complain to?The morning was lovely, got up, stuck a load on the line, and a load in the machine. Made lovely coffee and sat and watched the 6th Wallander episode before anyone else got up, then vegged on the sofa with 1978 Battlestar Galactica in the background with DH. The kids had demolished the milk supplies, so had to do a quick run to the supermarket, and returned with milk, sausages, frozen peas and bread. I should not need anything else for the next 3 or 4 days, so should rack up some NSDs.Sat down on the sofa and my vision went pixelated. I have had this before, the optician reckons it is a retinal migraine aura - almost like someone has put a fish scale over part of your vision, very strange, but never a headache with it, after about an hour, my sinuses started killing me - stupid hayfever! Happens at this time of the year - can't really concentrate on the tv as I keep going fuzzy (good job I can touch type
) can't read, or do anything really, but I was not about to go to bed at 6pm. People needed feeding.
So now I am sat on the sofa with a cuppa, hoping it does not get any worse. Taken Anti-Histi's, throat still feels like I have gargled with broken glass. Breathing hurts. Whine whine, whinge whinge, woe is flippin' me. Good job I do not have to go anywhere. I am being proper pathetic. Hayfever sucks.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I got the vaccine this afternoon! 20 minutes after booking (an hour on the phone with lift music.... you are 32nd in the queue.....) I was driving home having been jabbed. So that is a bonus! I think I was a non-wastage appointment by accident.
They said they would be in touch in 10 weeks for the second appointment.
Made great pasties for lunch, a really nice biryani for supper- had very little mango chutney left, but did have a sad mango in the fruit bowl, so in that went = enough mango chutney for everyone.I am out at work tomorrow (fingers crossed for no side effects) so I have made a (not) chicken and leek stew for their lunch so that dh does not have to bother or take too much time off work.I am going to have to buy some food tomorrow. The fridge is looking very empty, and there are some disturbing holes in the pantry - no tinned tomatoes left, and only one thing of passata. Milk supplies are limited. Only one box of cereal left. There may be riots in the stairwell if this kind of behaviour continues.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
