With the vaccine, is it worth checking on Swiftqueue website. I’m Leicester based and because a lot of people haven’t been taking the vaccine there has been spare appointments open to anyone; I managed to get in on Sunday at Glenfields hospital.

My sister gave me a beautiful jigsaw for cmas - all ethically sourced, lovely wave pic. Only 600 pieces, but 50% of it was sky. All the same colour. All the same shaped piece... I did as much as I could, but was unable even to complete the edge! I packaged it all up and it is going to the ch shop for a more patient person than me.

Someone locally has set up jigsaw borrow/swap outside their house, it's very well used. They started it during the first lockdown and there's always a good selection. 
Can anyone tell me why a 1000 piece puzzle takes way more than twice the time to complete than a 500 piece? One of life's mysteries!

its exponential (well combinatorial) innit - think about smaller with a 4 piece jigsaw you got 3 choices to fit the first two bits together, then 2 then 1.  with 8 piece you got 7 then 6 then .... (ignoring your jigsaw skill but inidicative) but just randomly worst case with 4 piece is 6 worst case with 8 piece is 27 (I think).  so twice the pieces but 4 times the guesses

You seem to need a pin to book anything at the minute kitten.  Big signs and banners saying :

As part of the terms and conditions of the service, when they arrive at their allotted time, they must show proof of eligibility and identity to enable them to be vaccinated. If they are due to be vaccinated they will be. If they have deceptively tried to jump the vaccine queue, they will not be vaccinated and will be turned away.

Ah, I was sent a pin by a nurse (but haven’t shared) at my GPs as they know my girlfriend is on the ECV list so I was able to book in. I did take her GP letter with me just in case to the appointment and had no issues.

Fingers crossed they open it out soon to more people, especially if they have spares not being used!! 

I hope the ringworm situation heals quickly for DS4!

I have finished the flippin jigsaw.  Mostly by trying one piece in each and every hole, over and over and over.  I had become totally 'picture blind' they all looked the same, but none of them looked like they belonged in the holes.  Well, it worked.  Job done.

The sun is shining, it feels more springlike, but frost is forecast so those bedding plants are going to die if you don't protect them! 

The kids regular savers paid out this morning. They all have £27.44 in interest, and I have saved £3,450.00. 

Will have £17k saved on 1/4.  Not to be sniffed at.  Doing ok.

Supper will be a cauliflower and broccoli cheese bake. 

Father in law's birthday present needs to be wrapped and sent

Friend's Easter chocolate needs to be wrapped and sent

Mother in law's birthday present needs to be wrapped and sent

No motivation to do any of it, so I will  have a cup of tea, and maybe get on with things later  -  dh is gaming tonight - poor thing is neck deep in marking essays (his language is deplorable) and despite him writing them guides, and explaining what he wanted them to do multiple times, they have done something else entirely and wrote the essay they wanted to write, instead of the the one they were asked to.    Poor DH.      

He was so certain he had got through to them this time.   But no.  It does not matter how many times he tells them what X type of essay expects them to do, they do not engage with the literature, they do not reference properly, they write their names instead of their student numbers etc.  Poor thing needs a break.
