I’m very impressed by your DHs overpayments; I manage all of ours at the moment. Maybe I should make the payoff tracker more visible to the gf and she’ll take the hint?

Because the mortgage is with 'his bank' and I am locked out because they suspect I am a 'shady character' (how many times must I show them my passport and ID???) he has to tell me each month how much we owe, and how much interest has gone on that month, so he is now  'involved' rather than just being told.  He has control of the clicker!  

Finally! After 16 odd years of house ownership (give or take 18 months of city swapping) he gets with the programme.

I started putting together a file for DH in case I ever get hit by a bus as he hasn't a clue about any of that stuff. I should prob also add in the hoover and washing machine manuals

I have given DH a list of financial institutions where we (mainly me) have products - no account numbers and no balances - just enough detail to contact them if necessary. He has no clue/ interest beyond that

Lol, me too. If I keeled over, DH wouldn't have a clue how to access anything - even the kids dinner money app!

We have a shared folder on Google Drive where I download all the user manuals to 😉 it has a subfolder with user manuals for his parent's house 😁 I was fed up with them asking how to do things with their things or asking us to set it up whilst hovering over us and nattering and or moaning we hadn't done it yet. This way I can read the relevant information in peace and get on with the job or more likely these days (try) talk them through it by video call 🤣

OH knows what institutions I have accounts with, but no idea which accounts or how much is in which account except the life assurance as I insist he knows.

@Baileys_Babe most of our manuals are paper version still although I'm sure I could find pdf versions.  To be fair, they tend to be in one of two folders,  one I have/keep and the one the lovely people we bought our house left us. The washing machine one lives in 'that' kitchen drawer as its the one i need when there's a random code blinking on the machine (usually to remind me I haven't emptied the filter in 6mths so how on earth do I expect it to empty when its constipated 🙈). 
Good idea about the sub folder for secondary household support 😁

Like you a lot of our manuals are paper but I am gradually downloading the relevant online manual when I need it or when something new comes into the house. 
I find it useful when the dishwasher or washing machine flashes an error I can just get out my phone and deal with it.
