But what have I actually achieved @mark55man ? I will have been here for 5 years at the end of this month. I nearly own half of a house with a leaking roof, the bathrooms still need doing, the kitchen is a wreck, the extension still needs building, it has got double glazing though - but I have a really good fighting fund built up to do the jobs.... and I nearly own half a house! I would have an absolutely AMAZING budget for renovations if I had not overpaid the mortgage quite so much. I know that. But it is important for me to be able to see the mortgage numbers go down quickly, while the savings numbers go up. I keep telling myself that when all the jobs are done and paid for, then I will be able to throw money so quickly at the mortgage it will be a case of paying off the 10% allowed overpayment on the first day it is permitted, and being mortgage neutral and then MF as fast as possible.

The way I look at it - although its not yet at your vision, and although some of the unfinished jobs irritate you, possibly profoundly, its liveable and your achievements are not to be sneezed at. Plus having anything new in a house with 4 kids (and 4 DS at that) may not be new for longI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Good morning foxholes I ordered myself ME day flowers this year and fully intend to also have a ME day weekend too. DD and DS are slightly bemused.😀 I hope you have a really nice weekend.6

I think sometimes it's easier to invest money in the house when you own more of it @f0xh0les! And anyway, houses are constant work. I've finally managed to get a plumber to return my call, which is nothing short of a miracle, so keep your fingers crossed that he will manage to fit in a visit on Tuesday to see what needs doing. I should probably start calling roofers again, although it's a bit windy at the moment.
I'd prioritise whichever bathroom you use, and the kitchen. Don't waste time making things nice for boysWait until they leave home

I've read about half of your dairy f0xh0les and I'm in awe at how much you've done in the house and how much you've overpaid. Its taken me eighteen years to get around to finding someone who might be able to replace a cupboard!Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

Happy Mothers Day to me! (and you, and your mothers) I have baked Mothers Day scones, Mothers Day soda bread (plum and pecan this time - have about one portion of prunes left from the massive sack) and a Mothers Day sponge traybake to go in the lunchboxes this week once it is iced.DH made a Mothers Day curry for lunch, and we are going to have a Mothers Day pasta for tea after watching the Mothers Day football. Finished all the Mothers Day laundry, might make a Mothers Day cup of tea in a bit
It is all daft isn't it?
DH has paid an extra £150 to the mortgage. All on his own! Disturbing behaviour. Will only be £85k in debt in a fortnight!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
