I am only talking about the utterly frivolous pensioners I know in real life, not my lovely over 60's on here.Unless you are already sharpening your elbows and readying your trainers for the scrum in S&M.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

f0xh0les said:Because the 'Grey £' is a real thing. I never realised how often they went off on holidays until this last year.I would avoid S&M like the plague for a month once the second jab is given out, they will be rampaging through the aisles getting their eat-in meal deals and sexy knickers and girdles ready for cruising season.
You are spot on about the food section, I actually got swiped across the ankle one xmas when I was in picking up our xmas day lunch - and I am quite sure from the look on the lady's face it was not an accident
Our W'Rose is exactly the same - I fear that on the odd occasion I venture in there for something I may end up being brained by a Dutchy Organic Duck Legs if I linger too long in one place.

Many over 60's go on holiday numerous times a year, I know my parents and their peers do, to the extent they often find it hard to get together as someone is away.
My parents have been sticking to the rules, shielding, online shopping, using zoom for all socialising. I know what their normal holiday budget is per annum and they didn't spend a penny of it last year add in this years plus the 'we need to make the most of it we don't know how much longer we will be fit enough to travel' top-up, they could clear half my mortgage 😂 Currently they are not planning on going away this year, but who knows what they might think in a few months.

Isn't it funny how we have this idea all pensioners have to be careful of every penny, there are an awful lot who are having a great time! I keep hearing the S4GA Holidays adverts on the radio. That is what keeps putting it into my head, and spending time with 2 gents in their 70s and one lady in her 60s for a couple of hours a week volunteering. They have worked hard for it. I just worry when they get told it is safe and they start roaming the streets in packs.

Woah I am a mess today. DS1 and DS2 decided to wander up and down the stairs until nearly midnight, then DS1 was awake in his room, dropping things and unplugging things and generally making a noise every time I managed to get off to sleep until about 4. But (and it is a great big but) he has now done his EPQ project and his oral examination thereof, and he just has to update his work diary and it is finished. It is worth half an A level. I have told him to finish his diary this week end before school starts back on Monday and then it is done and out of the way.I cancelled my blood donation on Friday because DS1 has his covid test at school an hour afterwards and I can't get back in time to do both. So rescheduled for May.Just going to clean the kitchen and make a gorgeous Cauliflower Curry then flake out on the sofa for the rest of the evening as DH is gaming with his mates, and I am staying well away from the oven as I have the urge to bake, and if I bake, I will eat it, and I will have to bake on Sunday for the lunchboxes and not until.Bought DS4 2 sets of shorts (£9), and was given one pair by an associate. So he has 3 to wear for school, and he has new white polo shirts from Xmas that have never been worn. Going to have to go through his drawers and see what he can still fit into. Might have to buy him a tracksuit or two with stretchy waistbands, he has 3 pairs of long shorts he can fit into. So cue the snow and freezing weather conditionsSo tired.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Thank you, a little better, but there were loud people out last night and DH was a-tossing and a-turning all night due to his frozen shoulder annoying him. Today he is a total mess. I do feel sorry for him.Imagine, if you will, you have been a good little bunny, not messing about, sticking to the rules, and you find yourself working with someone who announces they are in a childcare bubble with their married daughter and her 5 & 3 year olds. And they drive 125 miles every week on a Friday to get the kids, drive back 125 miles play with them all weekend and drive the 4 hour round trip back on Monday. And I did not say anything rude at all. They have been doing this the whole time of lockdown. But it is allowed, as they have a 'childcare bubble' ...Am I being unreasonable about this? Now to me that is not reasonable travel. That is not staying at home, that is not staying in your local area, that is not RESIDENTS ONLY in their house, and that is really not playing by the rules, that is bending the rules to suit yourself.I strapped the mask tighter and left the room and did not go back. On the plus side, I was too annoyed to realise it was lunchtime, so I missed a meal. I can afford to miss the odd meal or two.Flippin Morons!
