I think all the children will look a little long haired until hairdressers open again. I have tried and failed a few times to cut DS's hair, and would rather wait and payMe, DD1 18, DS 16, DD2 13, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/194

Ok, I have a little bit more info about school openings. DS4 is in from 8th, full time, no excuses - they will set the law on me if he does not turn up. DS1 must go in on 5th for a test and come straight home, and then can start on 8th if negative, DS2 must go in for test and come straight home on 8th, if negative can start on 9th, so hopefully, all being well, I will have 3 in school by Tues 9th. DS3 has a test on 11th, and can start on Friday 12th if negative. So DS3 will have 11 days at school until the Easter Holidays. They have not given the time slots for the testing yet. For the weeks after, the school will arrange home tests twice a week for each pupil. It is all voluntary. So that is where I am at .I was volunteering today with an old duffer who has just had both his jabs, has booked 3 holidays this week, (the first being April), and one for next year cruising South America. He was telling me how he is meeting up with 20 other people in their camper vans on a site and were planning on having a big party as it will be his birthday and it will be nice to see all the kids running around again, so they all booked as soon as Boris made his announcement on Monday night.I fear a pack of feral rampaging pensioners in caravans are going to release themselves into the wild on 12th April, and there will be a-mixing and a-mingling and a-frolicking all over the place. His justification was that he had not had a holiday in 8 months and he might die sometime in the next 20 years and he just wants to enjoy himself while he can. I was gobsmacked. One week he is in a bubble with one daughter and her kids, and the next week he bubbles with his son and his kids, he was telling me about the day trips he has made with his brothers and their wives around the place under the guise of 'dog walking' and that they pretend they are just coincidentally in the same place at the same time, and what he cooks for them when they drop in at the weekend. I just kept my mask on and stayed 3 meters away from him at all times. I could not believe what he was saying. Mind-blowing. Retired people scare me sometimes. The car is all hoovered and ready for the Full Service tomorrow.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I don't blame you for keeping your distance. I am pleased to say that the retired people in my life have not been manipulating the rules to suit themselves. They have been doing this willing for the NHS, the community and themselves.Fashion on a ration 2024 66/66 coupons remaining

Sadly I have family members who appear to be in bubble of 5 households! 😱🤦♀️The September born baby has had a better social life than I have had in years and regularly goes to stay overnight with other family members (without parents) . This group of 5 households includes at least 3 diabetics, 1 copd sufferer, I triple bypass person, and 5 morbidly obese people.... I have not seen any of them since last Feb and do not plan to for some considerable time yet!! And their lives are plastered all over fb00k for everyone to see.... 🙄🙄

People never fail to amaze. By which I mean shock. Frankly some don't seem to have a clue what is going on or think they are invincible. I haven't seen my sister who is only a few miles away since last march when we did our usual early pass cards & presents over a meal as we both have March birthdays. She is extremely fit & well, me well but not quite so fit but both in our 70s. I have no idea what we will do this year, other than say forget it, move on, celebrate next year. Whatever we decide - it will not be partying like there are & never have been any restrictions.Personally, I refuse to land up in hospital just because some prat thinks he is too important to wear a mask. The good news my second jab should be early April. I still have no idea of the logic stopping anyone having their jab moved up if they are in a front line, whether hospital, school or any other public facing job. Whilst I am really grateful for getting my jab (and I really am) I would have postponed mine to give those at more risk than I am to get their much needed jab. I am still able to keep myself away from other people & do, some people are not so lucky.I worry about all sorts of things. Like when lockdown is released, what would parents do if their (long left the nest) children want to come & stay because they are worried about their parents. Would they be able to say "stay away" we are doing fine. I suspect some may not be able to. And there we are back on the treadmill.7

What I meant to say was that it must be daunting to watch your DS x 4 going off into this world you have no control over & which must seem so much more dangerous than before. You have protected all 6 of you to the very best of your ability, you can do no more than that.

Thank you all, sometimes I feel like maybe I am missing something, or I did not get the memo that says you can still do these things, but then I see Leicester is back up to 3rd worst place for new cases in the country again and I think 'nope, it really is just them' .Flippin' eck it is cold outside. I just dropped my car down at the garage for its full service and I was glad I had a bobble hat in the car for the walk back. I had to use the de-icer on the windows to get there, lovely clear crisp morning. I think I need to start setting my alarm for 5.30 or 6.00 again and just get on with things before other people get up. 7.00 is feeling a bit too late, now that it is light at 7am.I have dried 2 loads of laundry on the line this week, and I am loving it. I did stick them in the dryer, but it lasted less than 15 minutes before it stopped (sensor drying thing) which is much better than the usual over an hour cycle. Soon it will not be needed at all.I lost 2lbs this week. I am back up to 12.10 but at least I am stopping it before it thinks it is allowed to stay. The top end of 'normal weight' for me is 10.10 so I might as well try and shift the last 2 stone before the chance that anyone in the family might see me . I lost 2 stone at this time last year and only put 8lbs on over winter. My plan is for lots of stir fries and lentil curry, and keeping up with the soup for lunch and fruit salad for breakfast routine.Feeling more anxious than I should be about the school run recommencing. Probably because it is flippin' stressful. Oh well, nothing can be done about it, I can suck it up for these 3 weeks, and it does not matter if they are all going in and out at different times for testing, for teaching, for sports. I just need to get on with the diary management and make sure I know what I am doing and when. That is what I need to focus on. Get through the first 3 weeks, and then it should all be a little bit more routine. So I had better find DS4s shorts! He is the only one who is in 8 - 3 from Monday - Friday. At least I know what he is doing!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

It really is crazy how some people think the rules don't apply to them. My brother and his wife's family are the same. I've still not been told what the high school are doing as yet, but DD2 is back to full time at primary as from the 8th, and I am guessing I will be back at work, although the boss hasn't said anything as yet. I too was thinking of how long i have to shift some weight before I see people - really don't have enough time lolMe, DD1 18, DS 16, DD2 13, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/195

I can still wedge my butt into a size 14, and I am a size 10 when I am in a 'normal' weight band, at least I was, 9 years ago the last time I was in any way shape or form classed as 'normal'.Right, off to hammer some stuff as therapy until the garage rings about picking up the car. So it will not be a NSD. It will be the most money I have spent in one go since the golden thrones.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I can just about wedge my bum into size 14 jeans - wouldn't want to risk a 14 skirt though (not a fitted one, anyway) - put some poundage back on in Jan/ Feb as this lockdown made me miserable - so why did I eat myself more miserable - grrr! Still - I can shift that all again in March if I am committed to it (ignoring the fact it contains both Mothering Snday and my birthday.....) The brighter days are making me think of Summery clothes, though - and I want smaller ones!!I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £205
