Reading week is..... next week (of course!) none of the half terms and uni match up apart from Xmas. You really do have to wonder if this push to get things opened up by Easter is because The Bozster has a holiday booked......I have not been into town this year yet, I am dreading the amount of empty storefronts that are going to be there, all those people without a job.It is really hard not to fill up the freezer! It should only be about 2 more days until I can defrost.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

No exaggeration that the only clothing stores left in the town now are H&M, M&S and Tu in Sainsburys. Oh and Trespass if you need that kind of thing.
Obviously there are several charity shops but these aren't always suitable if you urgently need a specific item in a certain size.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Well I can heartily recommend Helen Mirren in the gender-bending role of Prospera in The Tempest, very good, and it was only 46p +p&p. The only problem was, the chap who was playing Ariel is the voice of Paddington, which caused a few giggles. Once realised, can't be forgotten.I went to Her0n this morning, and found big 1kg bags of veggie beef strips for less than 70p, and some vegan cheese, so the freezer has been defrosted and lunch today was pot-stickers (gyoza) and spring rolls, everything else from the freezer has been wrapped in newspaper, and I had shoved all the icepacks in the freezer last night, so they all went into a cardboard box, and have been wrapped in towels, and in about one hour they can go back into the defrosted freezer. The drawer front is arriving on Thursday/Friday.Did the shopping on the way to work this morning, have spent sub £20 and don't think I need much else except cornflour.Feeling quite good about this week. Kinda feels like I know what I am doing. Must be the half term holiday vibes.Back to work for the next couple of hours. See ya!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I realised in Paddington 2 after watching it several times that we know one of the character extras....I can now never unsee that either
Well done on the freezer defrost. I've been feeling iffy for the past day or so so OH is doing his duty using up a frozen pizza. I'm opting out of dinner tonight.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Came home from work, freezer was defrosted, water all over the floor at the side (how? I put down a million towels!). Boo! all cleaned up and freezer back on. Took twice as long as usual, as I only ever defrost the stupid thing when it is warm weather, but this time it was a necessity. All the frozen bananas were used up, so that was a win. Most meals this week will either be soup, or something in wraps with salad. I need to get back on the diet.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

DS1 has had a conditional offer from Lancaster, and a total rejection from Loughborough. His conditional is for 3 Bs, that is for the course without a foundation year. He has been invited to a virtual open day by Anglia Ruskin. So we will see, but it is nice to know things are happening.Got absolutely bu88er all done today. Honestly, not a thing but feeding people. I think I am nervous about Boris's announcement on Monday, and the return to home-school corridor patrolling. No, not nervous. Anxious, that is the feeling. Anxiousness.Cashed out £5 from p/a at 3pm, back up to £6 again so just waiting for those to go through and might do cash out 2 before bedtime.DH is gaming online with his friends so I have the evening to please myself.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Good that things are progressing well on the Uni front, fingers and toes crossed. Perhaps having certain grades to aim for will help DS1 with his focus too?
Know what you mean about being anxious about Monday, it feels like it's been such a long time, and the unknown of how much longer. People really are at their wits end.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I am neglecting you all! How very remiss of me.The homeschooling will come to some sort of end from 8th March. Got an email this morning to say the govt strategy had been delivered to the school yesterday, so they are working out a plan and will inform us before the end of the week when to send our lovely plague-rats in. DS1 and 2 have still not left the house this year. So it will do them good to get out. However DS1's mates are all planning their back to school Pi$$ up party as soon as their parents go back to work full time and their houses are empty during the day.DS3 is an utter Swot. DS4 has finally realised if he sits down and does his work he is finished by lunchtime and the rest of the day is his own. It is now boring to play on the computers, if it is his free time, rather than work avoidance. He has just uttered the words I'm bored for the very first time since lockdown began. Contrary git. So there should be no problem getting 3 of them back to school I fear DS2 will remain belligerent. No change there then! DS4 has put on quite a bit of weight so I will sign him up to all the after school sports clubs after Easter once I am sure they will be going back in full time (no refunds - no returns) actually I have just done a bmi calculation and he has 4lb to lose to be in the green. Will swap out the ice cream puddings for the fruit salad and berries puddings. Small swaps for the little dude, he has not done any 'exercise' for ages and it will come off him quickly when he starts again. Annoyingly DS3 is only just in the green for his bmi, but at the other end of the scale. I can't win! Just over 18 months between them but totally different body shapes.Noodle miso soup for lunch with loads of veg. Less than £2 to feed 6 (insert spinney Martin Lewis head). Think supper might be a veggie chilli to use up some old peppers and fridge bits.Spent the morning pulling staples out of bits of wood and arranging them in groups of the same length in order to finish all the planters before March begins - that is my one and only target for the next 4 days. Getting those planters built.I am working tomorrow, but apart from that it is head down and steam through the jobs, it is Mr Dr F's payday on Friday. My money comes in on Monday and the child benefit too. Still have £30 in the budget for the week. Don't really think I need anything though. I do have a £33 credit card bill, so it might get shunted to pay off that. Or I might buy some compost sacks, and I saw some cheap bulbs in Herr Al-dee by the tills. It is seed sowing time.Just realised that when DS4 goes back he will be in his shorts, so they will probably do him until he goes to secondary school in August because no matter how much he grows, they will still fit! I do need to do something about their hair though. DS4's is well past his shoulders even in his top knot, and DS3 looks like he is wearing a cycling helmet. But first, tea.
