Sadly not, no. I have one who finds anything more adventurous than cinnamon to be hotter than the surface of the sun, one that won't eat cheese, one who does not like coconut based foodstuffs, one who will not eat toast (????) but I try to make things that we will all eat together or that only one will refuse, each meal time.   It's a minefield I tell ya!  A minefield!

On our meal plan most Sundays (occasionally swapped to Saturday if that works better that week) is use it up - we offer all this weeks leftovers and each person gets to choose - saves us cooking and no waste. If they would go off before Sunday we freeze in single portions, useful when you need an alternative for 1 person or you need a day off at short notice. We keep them all in the same freezer drawer.

Would you be able to start something like this, possibly on one of your volunteering days?

DH is narky about it @Baileys_Babe .    He gets this way when he is feeling low. 

If the food appears as a fait accompli, then fine, but if you mention the planned idea is a 'use it up session', then he doesn't want it, has plans to cook something else etc.  But the stuff needs eating!  It is not about what would be nicer, it is about not wasting food!    It is not high on his list of priorities I am afraid.    Everything is awful in his world right now.

Sorry to hear DH is not in a good place @foxholes personally i am not concerned about where i am on a list but I think for some it's a struggle of yet another thing out of our control and movable goalposts at someone elses whim that is wearing mentally.
I've just blitzed up some stuffed peppers from last week's pub roast for the freezer. I should've done them sooner but kinda forgot they were in the fridge.  They usually do a nice veggie option but two weeks were stuffed peppers which neither myself nor OH are overly keen on them so I've blitzed them to be used in other dishes in the future. 
Could you offer 'use em ups' as a 'Sunday world buffet' maybe? Would that be more acceptable 🤔

The new VC has lost the plot. Got some consultants in who understand streamlining banks and financial institutions, but have no clue on  academia and the education sector.  They seem to think they can treat it as a business.  Crazy stuff, like suggesting if you have not gained a promotion in the first 5 years of lecturing, then you are fired - well that will impact women of child bearing age hugely! If they have not published in the 'right' kind of journals, then off you go sausage! see ya!  

The Business School Head has written open letters to the VC and had them published in the journals he is editor of.   It is going to be a total bloodbath.  145 redundancies, 60 odd of them compulsory, luckily not in DH's department, but still, they are his colleagues.   The English department being made to cancel the medieval literature courses because they want to be seen to be  'decolonialising the curriculum'   when they were some of the most popular courses.  But as they bear no relation to the world of work, no longer worth teaching.   God forbid you do a degree in a subject you love and don't use it daily in your job!  Well, apart from shouting Anglo-Saxon diatribes at the tv news when Johnson/Hancock/Gove appear - where is Gove anyway?  Has Pritti not let him out of the stationary cupboard yet?     I hope someone is posting him sandwiches under the door.

Maybe it has been decided he is no longer relevant to the current incumbents of Downing Street and has been eliminated.

Definitely lost the plot - how are we supposed to make progress in machine learning and AI without pure maths? They're basically maths... And data science. I work in tech - have done for nearly 20 years, and I have a degree in Medieval English, French & Italian... I recruit people with a wide range of backgrounds, as diversity of thought is key to success. I want people who can think, not people who think they already know everything.

Medieval literature would have likely been more use than my Media degree tbh. And nether relevant to the job I now do which is almost entirely Excel and numbers based. It's like the patients are running the asylum.

Utterly bl00dy DS4 has come home with ringworm.  less than 10 days in school and he is already contagious (as well as having a poisonous attitude at the minute). So enjoy dabbing cream on 11 yr olds 3 x a day  until they are gone and then 7 days more. Should just about take us up to going back after Easter hols.

Just found 2 empty storage jars (old D0w Eggberts coffee jars) in the pantry and not a clue as to what was in them, so cannot restock. Will have to do an inventory and try  and work out what is missing.  It is like a Sc00by D00 mystery.  Well, it has meddling kids involved in it

3 more morning school runs to go.  Motivation at an all time low - nowhere near 'kill me now' but definitely 'oh god not this again' territory. 

So much food in the house that I could probably get away with just buying some milk and then not bothering with a shop for 10 days.  Maybe that is what I should do.  2 crates of soya milk and make like a hermit.

Today's task is to finish the stupid jigsaw - only about 1/10th left now, but it all looks exactly the same to me.  I have gone 'night sky' blind. 

Right,  tea-therapy and jigsawing  quietly while dh is in his meetings.  

Kids' savers mature tomorrow, payday still just over a week away, even though it feels like it should be sooner. 

Limbo time until I can overpay and budget again.

Funny you should mention jigsaws, I am going to be doing my current one shortly whilst waiting for jigsaw 5 to arrive, the last one of my birthday present from DS.  We know how to live.  Have you tried Wasgijs?  I was very lucky in summer 2019 when I found a market that had a lot.  I suspect they will be more expensive now as so many people seem to have taken them up during lockdown.
