Apparently you can get cookers that have a video camera in them so you can see your food cooking. Personally I think a washing-machine cam for cats has a much bigger market. You can also get a fridge with a screen on the door to show you what's inside. I'm not quite sure why you need to do that when you can just open the door...
As you say... boy's toys...
ETA - I hate the beeping at the end of the cycle. They should market the lack of it as a premium feature. I'd buy it...6 -
I did find a washing machine that ticked all the boxes, but it had a solid door. No window, and I could not get my head around not being able to look in, or see if something was in there that should not be - in case I had to hit the 'drain' button quickly. Which is odd, as the dryer does not have a door with a window. Why does a fridge need a window? Unless someone breaks into your house and leaves you groceries. Or you have memory problems. Or you can't find anything to watch on tv.Honestly, it is just one more thing to go wrong, all this technology, and then you end up on a programme like When Washing Machines Attack. or When Toasters Go Bad. I will wait and read the instruction manual (yeah, I do that) - it will be one thing that will not need to be replaced when we build a new kitchen. Yay!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

When all 9 of us were at home, my mother used to hide unopened packets of biscuits in the tumble dryer safe in the knowledge no one else would do laundry. A light would have been very useful to see what was in thereMortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. New washing machine sounds fab F0xh0les, i couldn't do without a window on ours either...and we have no dryer. Those fire pits from old drums are fabulous, and very expensive if bought pre upcycled, bet yours will be better.
Hope you guys are out of lockdown soon.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Happy new washing machine @f0xh0les. I think my husband would like being able to give the washing machine his phone number... why I’m not sure... I think he’s a little disappointed that we have no “smart” appliances 😂Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

DD and I have just had an extended conversation about what type of person would buy a fridge with a screen showing the contents on it. I'm still laughing. Not giving up

Well the first 14 minute test wash with no laundry went well, the second wash (with the abandoned last load of wet towels and dressing gowns and floor mats) danced across the kitchen floor.... hoping it was because it was not a full load. Will try again after I have read more of the instructions. But a 14 minute wash!Anyway, I have had quite a nice day, dh's car battery is dead again so the battery is charging plugged into the wall again. He bought a new one and Eur0spares are having a 60% off sale on batteries, so £50 for a new one. He is happy. He used £back site. Then I folded and returned all the dry laundry to the kids, dh took the smallest 2 down to the park on their bikes. Sausages and salad for lunch, DS4 hung around the kitchen to watch The Masked Singer (US version so I have no idea who anyone is but I like the mystery) so I gave him a knife and a pile of fruit and told him to make a fruit salad. Football match, football match (we won!!now we are in 7th), washing machine delivered, garlic broccoli stirfry, washing machine unpacked and leveled and tested, football match, drinking tea. Going to have a bath and wash my hair. There does not seem to be anything much on tv (quelle surprise!) so will get on with my book.I was back to 12.4 this morning. Limited my carbs and have eaten loads of fruit and salad. I am going downwards determinedly. I am having to use belt notch number 2 now.Volunteering in the morning, and again tomorrow night. Will do a masked raid on Mr T's at y/s o'clock. The weather actually looks quite good for the next week - at least 18 degrees most day but a bit cloudy in parts, but it is properly warm by 7am here already the last week. Warm just makes me sleepy! So I have got a list going that I want to have achieved by the end of this week - there are bits hanging around on this list that have been there for months. I cannot go anywhere, I cannot plan anything, so the least I can do is tidy up my house. I have found a couple of walks near reservoirs that look quite nice and are 20 minutes from the house.I think I can claw back about £150 from the food budget to pay for some of the washing machine, made another £10 on p/a today, which leaves me £210 short. I will have to make that up from the August housekeeping, but that will just mean that I can't save as much as I have been doing the last few months. Household stuff breaks down. Fact of life.Glad I gave you and DD a happy moment wondering about fridge window lickers - was that before, during, or after the decorating of her room?4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
