I woke up this morning with the thighs of a 90 yr old. So running and walking was off the cards. I got volunteered to help out with a side project (i do not want to be involved tbh) so that took up 2 hours today, I am covering for someone on holiday next week, and then I am becoming unavailable. It is a church project, I am not a member of their church, they should be getting members of their church to run it, not people who are too obliging by half. Anyway, after next week when I get asked again / put on a rota without my consent, I will be unavailable. Apart from that, Le Shire City and surrounding bits, is supposed to be on lockdown, so how this woman is off to Spain is beyond me, and I do not want to be in an enclosed space with her as she is filed under the heading 'dangerous person' in my mind. Anyway, I went, I did it, I did not enjoy it much, I will be doing it next week. Not my monkeys.Finished one book, started another, accidentally spent £9 on cheese (2 cheeses at £4.50 each) so I came home and made just over £5 on p/a surveys so I am already one cheese neutralWill run/walk in the morning - kit laid out ready. It is teeming down outside. Has been nearly all day. I am antsy, have been all day, no idea what I want to eat, just know what I don't fancy. The Cheeseman tried to get to me buy vegan cake, I resisted. All I can think of right now is cake. I asked the nectarine in the fruitbowl if it was as good as a piece of cake, but it ignored me. I think I have offended it.The house is going to get cleaned tomorrow morning, I have a list prepped and ready to go. It is a tad on the chilly side, so it is good weather for a decent veg stew. I do not know what I want right now, but whatever it is, I do not have it and I am not making scones at 7.30pm while I figure it out. Might have to take myself off to bed early or I may well start to eat everything not nailed down.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Clean your teeth! That's what I do when my brain decides I need to eat and I don't. And enjoy your run tomorrow. Don't forget to stretch

Your 90 year old thighs can join my 90 year old shins and forearms. I pushed through the pain today and am going to have a soak in the bath now, and pretend that the rest of my house is as beautiful and serene as my perfect bathroom, and hope that I still function in the morning as I need to actually go into work.

One of our neighbours wears shorts virtually all year, I know it must be very cold if he is wearing trousers and a hat. His house though isn't subtropical his ancestors came from much cooler climes. He I think is an exception.
In this house, if a member of the family say they are cold I ask them what they are wearing, both dd & OH are notorious for being underdressed, then they go and add more layers. Thankfully our heating system doesn't have a quick 1 hour boost otherwise they would think to press that not assess what they are wearing.

Don't be discouraged re the running weight:- I flip between couch potato and running 30k a week and it generally takes 10-21 days of regular running for my body to go 'oh this is a thing?' and started shredding the weight. A weight gain at the beginning usually is more to do with your muscles retaining water to repair, especially if you are aching.
We are absolutely loving the extra YS fruit, I regularly buy half a banana tree and some apples each week, but it has been amazing throwing fruit at the kids (not literally, but they have been at home since March and I'm getting close) when they ask for a snack (approximately every hour, apparently lockdown has increased their appetites)
I love that you are cheese neutralMortgage-free wannabe!

Nothing wrong with throwing fruit at kids, as long as you make them bark like a seal first. arf! arf! arf! Then you have all the fun of smoothie making workshops, and nice-cream (freeze bananas, blend them, tastes just like ice cream, even more if you add chocolate sauce on top). They can't help being hungry - they are growing, I'd expect a growth spurt if they suddenly go snack mad. I would recommend a height chart next to a door frame on a bit of the house that is not in the budget to fix yet. They love it, even when they are teenagers.I love my ys shopping but it pains me to know that the supermarket waste that much food every single day. So prep and freeze and eat like kings (on a tiny budget). I might also take a little look at the sell by date on some higher cost items (some vegan meat substitutes are fiendishly expensive for a family of 6) and plan a trip to the supermarket on that date. Honestly, it is possible to get your food bill down to £20 - £30 after a 2x week ys hunt, if you use your freezer wisely and meal plan.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I was thinking that I could easily reduce our food bill to £250, but lower would be absolutely amazing. We had a height chart on our last fridge, but sadly it didn't make the move, we definitely need another, my eldest two are so close in height they look like twins. Kids grow like weeds, and I can only guess it gets worse (and more expensive) as they get older. Have you heard of the app 'too good to go'? It's all about reducing food waste, but not much appears in our area, we try to live as sustainably as we can, I hate waste too.
The best part is living like kings, the girls eyes almost exploded when melon appeared. I honestly don't mind if they fill up on fruit, especially at those prices - the times helped massively - thank youMortgage-free wannabe!

Hi Foxholes, the guy in shorts might not be able to put his trousers on.... MrCM spent the day in shorts here (which given the vile weather I thought was a tad eccentric). He confessed at dinner it’s because none of his trousers fit him on account of the lockdown weight gain 😂.7
