Not feeling criticised, I was wanting to hear others experiences.
OH will give lovely hugs if asked and occasionally spontaneously, but when I'm feeling rubbish I need him to notice I need a hug, I'm not necessarily in a place where I am even aware that a hug could be helpful.
Another probably contributing factors is OH's family do not hug, whereas my family do hug and my Dad enjoys and instigates hugs. Thankfully the children hug and are also happy to hug in public and in front of their friends. As well as being demonstrative in other waysFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

f0xh0les said:If you stand in front of dh and say I need a cuddle, he is great. I think he just needs to be told. Then emailed, reminded then possibly a post-it note nailed to his forehead. His absentminded brain is off thinking of a million other things - he is very excited by his work and is making contacts with archaeozoologists this week about chickens . Who knew?Yesterday was a bad day as it was properly the last day of school here til September. So in my head, it was all 'Ok, now it is Summer, what are my plans? ]End of year meal out celebration - nopeGoing away - nopeMuseums - nopeDay Trips - nopeLido - nopeFamily -nopeWe are down to essential food shopping only, and - if absolutely necessary - 1 hour outdoor exercise - but I was in a shop yesterday and out of 14 people. me and one other had a mask on. If people don't start to take this seriously and suit up when they go out, then we are just going to be circling this round and round.M-i-L suggested last night, that as Le Shire seems to be so bad, maybe it would be better if we went to live at their house for a while. I do not think she understands the concept of Lockdown. It only applies to other people. I know it does not apply to her as long as she is on horseback. Urg. Other people eh? Anyway, as I am sure you can all understand, I was not on the phone booking the ferry.I did have to laugh though, I was listening to the radio on the local BBC station to try and find out where the plague boundary line lay, and they were taking questions from listeners as they had one of the MP's on 'after the news', so Paul in Birstall wanted to know if he could tow his caravan, Julie in Melton wanted to know if she could drive through the city and out the other side to visit her mum, and Lorraine in Saffron Lane wanted to know when she could visit relatives in prison again. One for those who know the area (and the stereotypes). As for masking up, I’m with you. They get worn at all times on the odd occasion DH has been out. Smalls and I have not been to any shops. As for the local news that made me laugh 😂 I listened to some news on Tuesday and was banging my head against the wall as someone from Charnw00d was saying they didn’t know if they could go and do a gardening job in the city this week as it was confusing. I’m not sure which bit of the city being in lockdown and essential travel (medical or food related) only is confusing 🤷🏻♀️9

OMG I just measured myself with a tape measure
- the kids wanted to know how tall they were, so they could work out how many more cm they had to grow before they are taller than me - I might have to instigate an 'anyone taller than me pays housekeeping' rule - that will put them off!
So I grabbed DH, and started to measure him, he has lost 4 inches off his chest and 2 or 3 off his waist - poor lamb is absolutely having to wear a belt now, he is looking really good.I measured me and I am wedge shaped. It is not a pear it is just flippin' odd. I am 34 (down 4 inches) 40 (I look 6 months pregnant as it is all pulling inwards on the sides, so I have quite a pleasing silhouette, but it is making my mum-tum look bigger - if you see what I mean - need to firm up those muscles! ) and a 42inch bum. 34/40/42 !!!!!!. I am losing weight from the top down, like a melting ice cream cone. If I start running, my hips melt quite quickly. i just need an injection of bravery or an invisibility cloak - which means 5am running and 4 hours on my own in the morning until anyone else gets up = b-o-r-i-n-g!. DH prefers exercise in the evening and I hate it, but I can do early morning and he can't. We are utterly incompatible.I had a complete sod-it last night, and made indian style carrot, corn and courgette fritters, with onion bhajis, and banana fritters with toasted walnuts. Everything was fried. The whole lot. Not put on any weight! Unsurprisingly not lost any either. It must have been saved by the watercress salad. Today I am back on track. I have discovered a ys meat-substitute called Alt. and they do a lamb version - now lamb is not usually something they make an alternative to, and it was £4 a tub, but ys down to £1, and it is flippin marvellous. So made lamb style kebabish strips and salad wraps for lunch - everyone ate them!! garlic yogurt sauce and a mint sauce. Bliss.Today we have a chilli and guacamole planned, and an Irish stew (I bought 5 packs of the alt.Lamb I am going to be using it in everything!). Tomorrow DH wants to do an Aubergine Fatteh and I fancy a toad in the hole with lots of kale as I have 2 bags of y/s kale in the fridge and it is quick, easy, and a crowd pleaser. The kids are being introduced to a lot of new recipes and ingredients at the moment, as we are both home and cooking, and I am only shopping once a week. There seems to be a lot less traffic on the road this morning. Hopefully people are being sensible and just staying in their box. 10 more days until lockdown is reevaluated.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well done on the inches. If you want to get out for a run, do it. No one is watching, everyone is too wrapped up in their own lives to care. I love a morning run, nice and early on my own while the world is still asleep...unfortunately it rarely happens as I'm not a morning person 🙈
My excitement of the day is that I've had a haircut and I'm so bloomin happy (first world issues i know)
Hadn't had it done since Jan and had an appt booked for 2 days after we got locked down which was a reschedule as we'd had a cougher in the house. So i was the first client at 8am. Hurrah!Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Another one to say 'just go run'! I waddle at the best of times, like an arthritic hippo. But I feel like a gazelle! You are v brave to be telling us all your inches. Mine add up to rather a lot more than yours...

I just found it so funny to have lost 4 inches off my back, but only about 0,5 off my middle, I am obviously working from the top down. I look forward to it getting to my middle section. Come on gravity! Get a move on!
Or maybe my back fat has just melted and stuck to my butt instead? Who knows! I might end up with the skinniest body but the fattest feet in the history of creation.
I am going to lay out my lycra by the front door before I go to bed, I will probably only manage a 5 minutes out, 5 minutes back kind of run, but I will aim small and build it up. The end goal is to be able to leave my house, run up the road, to the roundabout with McD's on it, and back down the other side to home, which works out at a 4 mile circuit. Just got to take it slowly and I will get there eventually. Hopefully before school resumes. This is my holiday homework!Lunch was absolutely bonkers and very gorgeous. I would recommend aubergine fatteh for anyone who likes aubergine. It is simple, but bonkers. The pomegranate molasses absolutely takes it to another level. I can't believe it is a breakfast dish, but if someone gave it to me for breakfast then I would scoff the lot happily. Bonkers.DS1 is now the tallest in the house, much to the indignation of DS2 who has held that title for the last 2 months or so. I now have a height mark comparison chart on the wall of the kitchen for the first time in about 6 years (and 3 different houses). DH is a misery and would not join in.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Have you ever tried doing Couch to 5k? (Or C25K as its commonly known).
I've done a bit of it with OH when he was following it. I personally worked up my mileage by going out with a running friend who made me get my milage up by getting me drunk and had me agree to doing a half marathon 😂 i don't think it's a recommended programme though 🙈Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I got thrown out of my free couch 2 5k training group for not running like a beginner about 8 years ago! So now I am traumatised. I went with a friend and we were too busy chatting and running along and the leader of the group told us off for not being out of breath and for laughing too much (oops) and for running too fast for the group. So we ended up going to the normal Swe4tsh0p free 5k timed run out from the centre of Manchester and out around the Etihad Stadium and back again, after 2 weeks to trying to learn to run. Happy Days! They charge £3 a session for it in Le Shire - which is just unethical as far as I am concerned. So I just need to get back into the mindset - I was running 4 or 5k 6 days a week about 6 years ago, I just need the motivation to get my butt out the door again and to rid myself of the fear of pollen asthma. I tend to make myself run across 'one more side road' each time I go out, then the next thing you know you have built up another 1km. It takes 30 days to make a new habit (or so the mind-benders say) so that will be my July lockdown challenge. If I have not done it by 10am my punishment will be to take a child with me. They can bounce along at a fair old rate for quite a distance and then whine all....the......way.......home.I am totally bewildered why Le Gouvernement is not going to evaluate lifting the 14 day lockdown until 18th July at the earliest, when it started on 2nd. It makes me feel like I cannot 'do' numbers. 2 + 14 = 18 obviously!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

You're supposed to be able to run at a pace where you can hold a conversation...me and my running partner take that part VERY seriously if not much else about running (apparently Pringles and Red Bull are not considered appropriate pre race nutrition by 'proper' athletes....my friend can churn out a half marathon in 1hr 50-something so they can jog on...literally 😂). We've also never stuck to the 'increase your distance by a max 10% each week' either. See I'm great at giving out advise, not so good at using it myself. Shame you're not closer to me, I think we'd get on well running.
Well given the state of the Gov coffers, I'm not surprised on the maths front! 🤦♀️Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
