It feels exactly like going to a festival but getting paid. The cheapest tickets were £259, I paid £0 and will come out of this with nearly £700 and I have done what I wanted to do at the festivals. Yay!

Back from two weeks of back to back events, one local, one on the South coast. Well, I say back to back, I came back from the last 3 day Bar Work Festival on the Monday morning (I finished at 1am) with a fat envelope full of cash (minus 20% tax), so went and paid that into the bank on my way to job 2 which started at 1pm, worked until Friday, had one whole Saturday off, then went to the South coast on Sunday and worked there until Friday night, came home, on Saturday morning moved DS3 to Swansea and left him there and drove back (Dr F-H drove).

Got up this morning, cleaned and cleared DS3s bedroom - how many mugs were in there?? I stopped counting at 15, so more than that!! Stole the required paperwork for getting him on the Foreign born register for Irish Nationals - official documentation that needs all 3 of his first names plus surname. Not easy!! and luckily I rescued his GCSE certs from a pile of papers he had left next to his bin for recycling.

Idiot boy. Anyway, one clean bedroom later, I sent him a message asking if he had found somewhere to watch the football and had a message back saying he was talking to people instead, so it sounds like he has made friends already.

Folded 3 loads of clean laundry, washed all my work shirts (or so I thought until I found another white shirt in my case - boo!!) ready for Thursday and Friday this week when I am in a hotel in Birmingham for another ceremony.

I am getting Diary-itis. There is not one single solitary job in my diary for the rest of the year after 25th September. That is making me nervous. I know there are jobs going on, but I have not yet been asked to work any, I assume it is all going to be last minute again. So annoying!

Anyway, I am knackered, it won't be long until the heating has to go on, my bedroom was actually thinking about being chilly last night! and when I came out of the hotel on Friday morning, you could see your breath!!

Only 10 days til October, which is when the heating is allowed to be put on the timer again

Did a quick fridge/freezer/pantry inventory and have a small shopping list for tomorrow. Money is tight this month as I have to get £2080 to DS3 on Monday, as that is the shortfall in his rent and living expenses each semester (there are 3) for me to top up.

Back to reality, I have no work in the diary until a week in February.

Going to have to find something to keep me busy.

I have just applied to T0sc0 for a festive colleague job, well, actually 3 x festive colleague jobs over 2 sites.

I have always had a bit of a 'situation' with one of my much older colleagues, my problem with her is she can't do the job, advises unsuitable packages, and doesn't listen to what the client wants, which leads to them having to come back to us 10 minutes later, and add on items after they are told they haven't paid for what they asked for. It is embarrassing. Her problem with me is that she claims she doesn't feel 'needed' - whatever that means, when I am on a job. It has more than once ended up with her in tears complaining to the woman who books us, that her loyalty should be rewarded - or so I hear from other members of the team. Anyway, I am pretty sure that is behind the lack of work offered so far, it is what it is, and if 90% of the team is related to each other, then I guess she feels that I am taking work away from yet another family member she can shoehorn onto the job sheet. Whatever. I thought I was there to sell things and make money for the company, not be on a jolly.

I thought it was difficult with the person who books me not liking me, but you really can't fight nepotism!

I don't know what to say when other people ask me if I am on X job, or if they will see me at Y job, and I just have to say " I haven't been asked". Then someone else on the table says - I have had an email about that weeks ago! I have been asked if I am free for X dates, have you not had the email? How strange, they must have forgotten to add you!' but I know it is not just having fallen off the end of the email list, I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but there is stuff going on behind the scenes which I am not privy to (or to which I am not privy).

Anyway, if my name does appear on a job sheet, I have people who will email me to let me know.

Heating has not been turned on yet, but the jumpers have been deployed. DH filled a hot water bottle for himself on Thursday night, and the ridges melted onto his hoody!! no water came out, but the rubber melted at him, it was binned - the bottle, not the hoody.

In laws are coming for 3 days this month. Sadly DH is away for 2 of those days. They are still coming.

We are merely a place to recover from driving from the bottom end of South West England before heading back to the Island. 2 parcels have been delivered already. DH is having to go and pick up a spare part from an Industrial estate 7 miles away so they don't have to pay international postage. DH is not impressed. They are not open on weekends so he has to do it within normal people's working hours. He is grumpy already.

It is 7 degrees outside F0xh0les T0wers, so I have decided to test out the heating this morning.

Just in case it explodes, or leaks, or whatever.
