Well we live in the plague area (city) but the kids go to school in the county. I know Oadby is classed as a plague pit, but not sure about Wigston.  Bizarrely yesterday they said the schools will close on Thursday in affected areas.  Thursday?? Of course!

So, took one kid to school for 9am,  went to volunteer for an hour, went home picked up another kid, took him to school for 10.30, did Herr Liddle, picked up one kid at 11. took him home, dumped shopping,, drove to Herr Ron,  and picked up other kid, home for 12.40. Went volunteering again after tea, went to T0sc0 got a brilliant haul of ys stuff, will probably feed us for a fortnight for £28. put it all in my  boot, closed the boot lid, looked in my hand and my keys were not there- well, my house keys were there, but not my car keys, looked on the floor, no keys, looked through the boot window, my car keys were on top of a tin of tomatoes  on the top bag of shopping, went for the handle, and the bloody thing was locked.  I was stuck, no keys, 5cm away from my car keys through a glass window.  Ended up ringing my breakdown cover people, 15 minutes later I had a man out who spent nearly an hour trying to get my doors open (no luck) and he ended up using his magic pokey bit of wire to unwind the window handle on the back door, and he wiggled through and into the backseat to get my keys and release the deadlock. 

I was quite convinced I was either going to end up on the back of a tow lorry, or living on T0sc0s carpark forever. 

So I woke up 2lbs heavier (thanks stress, love you too!) and  have just run down to Herr Aldee for 14 litres of soya milk and 2 more aubergines, and am trying to find out what on earth is going on with the lessons planned for the next 10 days.

Where is the logic in that? We have the plague, we need to close the schools because of the plague, we could do it now or wait to Thursday oh yes Thursday that will help everyone <insert face slap emoji here>

@foxholes how frustrating about your car key, at least you knew for certain where it was, and breathe.

I love it when you and @PurpleFairy26 talk about Leicester and the shire, I lived and worked there for a number of years and my parents lived there until about 2 years ago so we visited frequently

If I was told to return to sch tomorrow, I could just transfer my teaching from online to face-to-face. If I was already back in school and told to teach from home as from the following day then I could. Why delay???

I think I need to get more prepared.  I have received confirmation the primary school is not going to have the outdoor goodbye yr 5 s/d picnic they planned for next week. The school is closed to all but essential kids.  Goodbye, so long and thanks for all the fish.  The college and academy have sent me nothing at all. There is nothing on the website, on the facebook page, nothing.  I have now seen the map and the schools are in it. So we are locked down for the fortnight.

I do think it is amusing, that on the same day that human sock puppet Gavin Williamson was on tv saying if you don't send your kids back in September you will be fined,  we are told in Le Shire that schools are closing due to the widespread  occurance of covid in schools. 

It looks like I am taking DS1 in to college, and will get his holiday homework.  I am in no more danger today than I was yesterday, and I am down to the last 2 loo rolls in the house, so that is definitely  essential travel.

DS1 has been told he is to go in to college today as planned.

B0z0 is currently giving a press conference  in which he is promising everything to everyone.

Just looked at the le Shire ring fence and when I was living there, I'd've been locked in but my sch to the west would've been open, though half the city kids wouldn't've been allowed to go...

If your kids do languages, then memrise is a good site...
