I like the laundry philosophy, which reminds me my laundry has finished, no it didn't send me a message I know what time I put it on and how long the load takesFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

It's the lack of toilet trips that always upsets me with the Famous Five. They eat, drink and sleep with gay abandon, but never need to pee - even after a night locked in a cave under the sea/in dungeons/in the side of a hill!
They never needed a washing machine with WiFi either - they just didn't do any washing!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

When we talk about this at work, we use the term 'crossing the creepy line' to decide whether something is just stupid or more sinister. That 'clothing care' system looks like a fridge... Probably not too sinister (although I my have to investigate further!). You can get smart dolls (which are banned in Germany as surveillance devices). And smart sex toys (there was a data breach at one manufacturer that not only revealed who the users were but that the manufacturer had been collecting more data about usage than was reasonable AND that it was insecure enough to be activated by hackers...). And then there is the whole issue of the surveillance economy (don't connect the WM, it'll start commenting on how often you wash and how dirty the clothes are... who knows, it might start tweeting
). If anyone is genuinely interested I'm happy to provide a reading list as this is what I actually do as part of my job...

I still think the scariest thing is that people have their Aleksia and Syria in their living rooms listening to their every word. That crosses the line for me.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Hi foxholes congratulations on your Y/S bargains- we are also Aleksia refuseniks. Our posh friends think we are utterly eccentric to still have a CD player but I think it’s daft to offer that much personal data to Amonzonia.6

The kids think it would be a great idea to have them, as then they would not have to turn their own lights off. I told them I would not be rewiring the house just for them to not be bothered getting one arm out from under the duvet. Plus the added cost of visiting me in prison after I very sweetly and lovingly remind them that their bodies would probably be found one day, in a sack, weighed down by bricks, in the local canal network, if they don't start putting the loo seat back down again.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

My DH fully embraces the tech, he has his little camera set up so even the avatar on his bike riding do-hick is dressed like him, and he rides around, and sp0ttyd0gify is constantly on trying to guess his taste in music and profile him. His books are all electronic, all his dvices sync and talk to each other, all his work is now online. I am not feeling very technologically advanced, but when him and the kids are happily plugged into their devices like The Borg, it does not make me want to get involved.I still use a balloon whisk, for goodness sake!! Anyway, the 2 smallest have demanded burgers tomorrow, so I am going with my
2Sh0p card with free money on it and we will go to The Penguin Shop of Coldland, and Herr R0n, they can go on their bikes and I will trot along with them for as long as I can. It will be a good 3. km round trip and it will just look like I am chasing the kids around the place. Have another free £5
card coming this week too. I know I could buy something nice with it, but I just usually use it to get the kids their burgers. It stops them complaining about my menu choices, and there are A LOT of sausages in their future.
I think DS3 has plans which involve the words cake, drizzle, and lemon. Well, he really has plans which involve doughnuts but he is out of luck there. I have all the ingredients, 2 lemons that need using, he loves it, I will put him to work after we get back and he will be as happy as a sand boy. I might have to tape my mouth shut though. I have been super good the last few days and am expecting to see a result on the scales very very soon.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I am probably alone here but we are Aleksia users, we rarely have anything exciting to talk about and occasionally Aleksia doesn't listen even when you want her too
It's useful for announcing to the kids its lunchtime, we play music and radio around the house, and DH received some lighting stuff for xmas to control the landing lights. It just needs to connect to wifi, so is a (extortionately priced) smart bulb rather than a rewire, and can also get smart plugs to turn other devices on and off. I'm not too fussed, but DH works in ICT and constantly follows updates in technology. I think today even mobiles listen in. I swear I had a rather random conversation in my car with a friend (pre-lockdown) about something obscure that I would never even consider buying, and for the next week, most of the ads I saw were targeted at that product - it was something expensive & vehicle-related, but can't remember exactly what. The cake sounds amazing, and you can't beat free shopping! Hope you see that result on the scale soon
