Thursday 13/9/07 OS Daily Thread

Well its afternoon, and I have only just got on to the computer. My new laptop decided to stop working again, so its gone back yet again!!!!! I am getting just a bit fed up, taking stock of what I can do next, its less than 6 months old and has died twice!!!

We were out all day yesterday with various things. Went to DD's for tea, it looks llike dgd may have glandular fever, she has to have a blood test tomorrow.

Called to see a frined on the way home and she gave us a big bucket of apples from her tree, so this afternoon I will peel and cook some of them and freeze then for crumbles etc ove the winter. OH is playing bowls......

We have not managed to to the lottie, will have to try and get there tomorrow after lunch and them spend a bit longer on Sunday.

We had guests for supper Tuesday, so had a quick clean round......all went well and I have enough pork left for 2 more roast dinners in the freezer, buying the loin joint was a good investment............

Another 2 calls failed to come in today so plenty of mse reading has been done:D problem is you get out of the mood to take any calls at all:o

I dont know why but you look a lot younger than I imagined, you get a mental picture of people dont you ? I think its because you talk about your DGS, I inagined you being an white haired Granny

I've just had a bit of excitement, the Tour of Britain cycle race went past the end of our street so I just had to go and drool over all those nice young men in lyrca shorts. Did my old heart good!!
Nothing much OS today, we're going on holiday in the morning so DH is whittering and getting under my feet because I haven't finished packing. The dog is following me everywhere because he knows hes off to the kennels.
Want to send good thoughts for PP for tomorrow and JackieO, tell your DD not to worry, I'm sure she'll be fine. I had a similar thing and went for my results the other day. It was a basal cell carcinoma but it's all been removed now and apparantly they don't spread. I see the hand dr after my hols, so may get them sorted out a bit.
Birthday greetings where appropriate, hugs to anyone who needs them and now I WILL get the packing done.

You must be really close to me. They went past my house about 12:10 :beer: Biggest piece of excitement in our town for ages! Couldn't believe the number of police outriders and vehicles, though

got tonight's dinner on (turkey casserole in slow cooker)

edited to add: done eldest son's (who doesn't live here) laundry and out on line drying!

but I am also working today so not too bad - will have to really get my finger out this afternoon!

:eek: Ekkk, OH has just phoned to say he has cut his wrist at work ( he is a carpenter) just missing the vein !! He is on the way to hospital to get it checked, he said its very deep and about 3/4 of an inch long, (suppose I'll be cooking for the next few days )

just a quickie ~ I feel REALLY embarrassed that I've been slagging Ipswich off and some of you live near here too!!! I'm really sorry Squeeky , hope you're not offended! I can't mention Jimmy's Farm although it's REALLY close as I'm a veggie and don't want to advertise that! Yes, there are some very nice places in Ipswich , somewhere !

I've done EVEN MORE o/s stuff today ~ the field next to our lillypad has onions and they have just harvested them. They are all over the place and will just get ploughed back in so the whole village has been up here scrumping! I've got BAGS full, don't know what on earth I want that many for! Just don't want them to go to waste! Anyone want some?:rotfl:

if you have too many onions to use, grab some old tights, shove an onion in, tie a knot, shove another one in - tie a knot and so on... hang em somewhere cold..shed etc and they will last for ages :j

Afternoon all,

W**k wasn't too bad today - still finished 50 minutes early though, which isn't good for the bank balance as my 2nd boss will deduct that from my salary. There is no point in me sitting at a desk for 50 minutes with absolutely nothing to do when I can be home getting things done here. Swings and roundabouts, I suppose.

Forgot I have a governors' meeting at 3.30 today. First one of the new school year and its all about finances. There's no sleeping smiley or I would insert one here.

joannasmum hope your day improves. when I have that kind of day i have to remind myself that you have to have a few bad ones to really appreciate the good ones.
mrs micawber aren't mums just amazing? My mum is the same. If she calls the surgery to make an appointment we know she must be *really* poorly. Hope your mum's treatment goes well. ((hugs))

Off to job No 1 now to check phones, post, e-mails, etc. I now realised why I'm so fed up at boss being on holiday *again*. I only work there three days a week but when he is off I have to go into the office each day - which eats into the other two days. He does pay me for it but it can be a real pain at times.

Anyway, hope Thursday is being good to you all. xx
