Sorry to hear about your DH redruby but glad he's ok.

Well I got a panicky call from school at lunch time - DD2 had fallen and hurt her wrist. Hobbled down to collect her and got her home to have a good look.... spent the rest of the afternoon in the hospital  They don't think she's broken it but are sending the xrays off for 2nd opinion - her thumb is swollen and bruised and her wrist isn't much better. She's all strapped up and feeling very sorry for herself.

It's the same arm that she broke 8 weeks ago - bless her she's not a happy bunny.

  • Hi All

Not read a thing today as it hasn't really turned out as I thought! Phone call from my sister this morning to say Mum is to be in PRI until at least Monday. Well, that scuppered my plans for going up, bringing her home, taking her out for dinner and staying over night. Went up anyway for a visit this afternoon and she is looking better than I have seen her for a long time. She feels fine and her spirits are quite high thank goodness. I was worried that she would start to feel institutionalised. Reason for caution is so her medication is correct. She will go along to my sister's on Monday for a couple of days but she really is keen to get home to her own house - understandable..

Decided to call in at DD's for a pit stop on the way home to avoid rush hour around Edinburgh bypass. They were all delighted to see me and all seemed to be calm. DGS3 so much better than last weekend and slept for 8 hours last night for them. Big boys excited about coming over on Saturday for 2 sleeps. DGS2 has had a 'big boy' haircut and it suddenly made me realise he is a 'big' boy!!

Feeling quite tired with the 3 hour drive round trip, visiting time, work this morning and then time with my family.

Had hoped to do all sorts of things in the house tonight like doing a couple of loads of washing and some ironing. It will have to wait.

I want to send hugs to those who have had health or other worries today. You know I am thinking about you.

Congratulations to everyone having a good day.

    Love

A really weird thing happened to me this afternoon :
All the Mums up at school and people in the shop and the petrol station were all smiley and friendly with me and then as soon as I started to talk they all dissappeared REALLY sharpish or turned their heads away ! I wonder what that's all about?
Anyway , thanks for all the ideas with things to do with the onions, I'll have ago tomorrow at the soup but my favourite idea was raw onion sandwiches , so thanks Pen for that as they are so yummy I had them for lunch and dinner xx (:rotfl: )

Night all and ((((((((((((((((Froggy Hugs to all in need))))))))))))))))))))xx

Evening all and big hugs to those who need them and of course very happy birthday to purpleprincess

Not very good news today - got a bloomin summons for council tax - mostly my fault as i did forget to pay it - they sent a reminder and i paid online that day but they have stil summonsed me anyway. the worst of it is that they want the whole lot in one go. I will try to phone them tomorrow but it's very difficult to get hold of them. I suspect it's an automated thing and that they will be inflexible. If i can't get hold of them tomorrow then i will have to waste my day off on monday sitting in the council offices. if i get a ccj i also have to tell w*rk and i will have to pay the court costs. i keep telling myself that ther's nowt i can do tonight but it is a worry

i don't want to be a stalwart - mostly as i'm not entirely sure what it means so does anyone know how many posts qualifies for another star?

Dinner tonight also not a success - dd has added leeks to her ever growing list of Things I Will Not Eat but forgot to tell me and as that was the main part of the meal there have been much mutterings along the lines of the woes of half starved children. As there was plenty of bread, cheese and salad and dd has had breckie, a hot dinner at school and a snack at after school club I am sorry to say that most of it has fallen on deaf ears. To be honest the Leeks a la Greque were dull and will probably be recycled into a soup tonight only to appear again on Daddy Weekends. I will make up for my shortcomings by going out with my friend for dinner tomorrow and letting Dad buy her fish and chips

have a good rest of the evening

  • Hi Stef

DD and SIL experienced same problem last year (for some reason SIL cancelled direct debit by mistake!!!!) They negotiated with the Council, paid extra monthly and not a problem without too much financial hardship. They just realised an important lesson to learn - keep an eye on your bank balance to make sure DDs are being paid. It may be how different Council's deal with things. We live in Scotland so maybe different legislation than in England.

    Hi there

just catching up on the days events...

stefejb...when you ring the council tommorrow if it asks you to press 1 for this and 2 for that... don't press anything - they will think you have the old dial phone and you will get put through to a "real person".....;)

Grannybroon...glad your mum is feeling a bit perkier:T

Pooky - hope DD2 recovers quickly

Frogga.....did you have the onions before you went to the shops/school/ could explain the odd behaviour :rotfl:

Anyone else i have missed...hello and hope all is well
