I am sure we will wait with bated breath for it, but will wait patiently for you to post it. ;)

I see no point in replying to it, particularly if your asking a question you have already formulated an answer to. ;)

Well up to now your comments have been nothing but weirdly passive aggressive and your insight clearly misguided.

Forgive me for being delighted that I won't hear from you again.

There has been a further development on this issue but I think there's limited value in posting it on this forum. I dread to think what I'll be accused of implying and I'm sure my intentions for posting it will be fully investigated by the forum clique.

Look out for a thread in the future titled "Is it ok for a 14 year old friend of my SIL to stay in my house when her parents think she is staying with my MIL in a separate hotel room (but she wasn't) and she had never met me or my wife before now and her parents don't know us?"

The answer to that has to be 'no'. If, for whatever reason, she has to stay in your house with you and your wife then her parents need to be informed.

    You speak for yourself, marleyboy.
Personally, I have a tin of Dulux that requires my attention. :D
  • "Looking to make fun of"? You must be reading things that I am at a loss to see.

What is this, some kind of weird forum cognitive dissonance?

You really don't have to look very far (hint: you don't even need to leave this page!)

People can be thanked for saying awful things about another poster. Not saying that's the case for pollycat. But you'll get nice posts thanked and not so nice posts thanked.

Tbh I have to confess that I'm at the point where I think this thread is losing the plot. But I don't see the purpose in calling someone out as a school kid or a troll

Having said that if there's more to this tale the OP should say. Can't be bothered with riddles

Personally no way do I think it's appropriate two teenagers sharing with a 50 something woman. Not a chance

I wouldn't have shared a bed with my mum in my teens sure as hell I wouldn't be sharing with anyone else either.

Btw if you pay for a family room you pay for the room in most hotels. Easy to sneak more folk in if need be. But most family rooms I've been in have had a double bed and a pull out sofa bed so would doubt that's what was booked

If it's been a double room then I feel really sorry for the teenagers. Ridiculous and unnecessary

It's as cheap to book a family room as a double on many websites

My deepest apologies for offending you.
It was a joke - I really didn't realise you lacked a sense of humour.

Maybe if your posts had been less cryptic (and I'm not the only one to voice this) the thread would have gone in a different direction.

Thanks Pollycat, I really appreciate your "deep" apology followed up by immediately blaming my lack of a sense of humour.

    Anyway.

All I wanted was some opinions and guidance.

In addition to the people who helped, I've been:

    - Accused of making it up
    - Accused of being a troll
    - Told I have no common sense
    - Called a child
    - Had my intentions thoroughly explored
    - Told to go back under my bridge
    - Plus endured various other sarcastic and snide comments from Pollycat and Marleyboy

    All rather funny isn't it.

Having read a handful of the abusive posters' former posts it's very clear to me why they behave in such a way.

It's just a shame this this forum is dominated by these personalities.

Again, I'm sorry if you think my apology was insincere.

I really think you should read your own responses to other posters over the last 6 pages before accusing others of snide and sarcastic comments.
You could start with this one:
The forum genius has finally posted.

It's taken 5 pages for someone to conclude that I thought this behaviour was unacceptable before I posted it.

    Yes. Well done.

No-one has yet persuaded me I was/am wrong but I came into this open-minded. And I appreciated reading the other opinions.
  • Yes that response from me was not acceptable.
