Is there a FB page for your community? It's a great way of getting personal recommendations for tradesmen to do things where you live in a closed group, as long as you don't have loads of people hijacking it as free advertising.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

I will have a look but I am going to put something on my own page as some of my friends are in groups that might be able to help.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I looked at your link - so glad we encouraged you to go - it looks absolutely amazing. The ABTA tip was worthwhile remembering too.
We paid about £3.2K for a new combi boiler a couple of years ago for a 4 bed house. That included getting rid of the old emersion tank in the airing cupboard and a tank in the loft. If we had wanted a like for like replacement it would have been between £1-2K. We've saved so much gas since doing it though and we love having a usable airing cupboard and a more usable loft space. We got recommendation from our neighbour who had had theirs doneAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

savingholmes - I have two recommendations to try now, one from the electrician and one from Mr AJM who needed his heating fixing so I will give both companies a call.
I am at risk of doing too much at the moment or rather not giving myself any time to stop. I need to sit and work out what the priorities are I think as I don't necessarily want to give anything up. After the time with the doctor from my self referral (I don't know if I put on here that I had been discharged from him) I am getting a lot better at seeing the signs of stress and anxiety and dealing with them but this time I definitely feel like I am losing control. I am glad I am seeing the triggers though.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Right, this month I want to try and knuckle down with the petrol and food spends. Over the next couple of days I will total up how much they cost me last month and then see if I can make a small saving although February should be easier with fewer days. In all honesty I don't think I can save on my fuel so I just need to make sure I am budgetting correctly. I went down a brand level for my porridge oast this afternoon as I didn't have time to go to Ald!, so instead of branded I got suppermarket own although didn't go to the saver level. I am going to try and look for some good meal ideas that are a bit cheaper too to see if I can reduce these costs. I am on target to get rid of my small mortgage by the end of the year but maybe a few pennies will help bring it a little closer.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I don't like this new look forum although I am never a fan of change, maybe once I get used to it I will find it easier. It took me ages to find the threads I follow that are now under bookmarks. I always used to click on view first unread post, anyone know if that is still a thing?

For email subscriptions look under Profile, then 'Edit my profile' and it lets you turn off the email notifications. Really missing the last post bit of subscriptions as thats have I used to navigate the forum. Hopefully all the glitches get sorted soon. Last read post and smilies are both missed though.6
