After keeping tabs on my home savings account I realised we had an extra £200 in there so I have OPd it today.
It is my birthday today, a milestone one. I have had a lovely couple of days for my birthday but now have a quiet night in the house by myself. I feel it is quite important to do this, if I keep making sure I am around people at these sort of times I won't get used to being by myself. I have also had such a busy few weeks that it is nice to do nothing.
We have 4 viewings on the house this weekend and there was another today so hopefully we will get some good feedback.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

There is lots you could do with that bungalow !Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -

I have known what I want to do inside since I first saw it online!
If it is still on the market when we get a buyer for our house I will be putting in an offer. Today I have been debating not moving in straight away and getting the artex ceilings and bathroom done first. I just need to think seriously about it and the possibility of only coming back to it once a month if I get this other job. It is well positioned for me not to need a car if I am flying back for brief visits of if I need one I could hire from the airport on the odd occasion. Wherever I buy, hopefully I can find someone who can check on it regularly, my parents said they might be able to get up once a month. Is it really noticeable if someone's bins don't go out much?MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

There is someone interested in our house :j:j:j they are going to see their financial advisor on Monday or Tuesday and the estate agent is going to chase them up on Wednesday if they haven't heard anything. We also had a viewer today (must have been short as they had gone when I got home) and 3 tomorrow so watch this space.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Ever get the feeling that some things are just meant to be...
The things that have been picked up on the home report for the bungalow are roof related. When I went to have a look at the property I noticed there were roofing vans outside a house further down the road (looks like they are based there) and made a note of the company. This morning before starting parkrun I noticed a van from this company, I have just had a look and it turns out one of the parkrunners own the company...the one who keeps trying to encourage me to go to the running club...the one that is a main reason why I want to move to that town. Not only might I be able to get some advice in advance of the purchase to see how much it will cost to do the repairs but I may even have found someone that could keep an eye on the property if I am away.
I really need to not get ahead of myself but it is exciting.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

We are waiting for the first formal note of interest to go in for our house. We have one other couple who are deciding between our house and another and one who really love it and are trying to decide if one of our room sizes is too small for them. It is steady progress but things are moving in the right direction.
I got a little annoyed yesterday. When we initially separated I suggested (stupidly) that when we split the proceeds of the house Mr AJM should take the money out that he paid for the conservatory. The money came from his dad's will and after things got a little bitter in his first marriage divorce settlement I thought this might be a good thing to do. Each time that we have talked about the proceeds since he has never mentioned it and I forgot I said it, now we need to advise the solicitors he is saying he would like it. I do wonder if he would have thought about this if I hadn't mentioned it. While I get it is reasonable it led me to think about so many of the other things. He naturally seems to assume he will walk away with all the white goods and conveniently forgets that I didn't take any of the profit I made from my previous house. This doesn't require a reply as I am just venting, I am determined to try and keep this amicable and not get silly but I feel it is a little annoying that he despised his ex-wife and MIL for insisting he pay the money for their conservatory yet he is willing to do exactly the same this time.
Anyway on another note, I went back to my old work this morning and received some really lovely birthday gifts from themMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Sometimes biting your tongue and taking that step forward is the better option. How long will you have to work to earn the balance? Is 3, 6 or 9 months work better than anger and resentment? I would probably have said the same as you, and then felt a bit twisty when he asked for it...
I'm smarting as when my OH went the supermarket the other day he spent a tenner on my bank card. (I given him it night before when we were out for drinks, he told me he was going just not who was paying)Mortgage restart June 2018 £119950Re mortgage August 19 £110470, … Mortgage November 22 £85600 final 0% CC 3300Home renovations - £65000, mid 2018 - mid 20220
