We are back from our day out and apart from lunch and the train fare I spent £2 on buttons for the cardigan I purchased the other day. DD bought a CD in a charity shop for 99p, 10 minutes before she was looking at it in HMV for £5.99 so she's happy, DS got two xbox games for a total of £3.99 again from the CS.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Went out for the day yesterday with oldest friend - I only bought a pair of (needed) PE shorts for DS2 (£5) and lunch for the both of us, which was a good result!
Although I did find some sofas which I like and were comfy in John Lewis (ours really have had it - frame and cushions have gone and we have been looking for new ones for a year) - OH will need to try them out and see what he thinks but he likes the look of them online. I will try and get him to a JL when the children are back at school as they take approx. 9 weeks to order - and I would like some new sofas sooner rather than later
as the one of ours is so uncomfy now that I won't sit on it and the other is only just better.
More spending anticipated this weekend - DS1 now back from camp and we need to buy a suit, extra trousers, shoes and shirts for VIth form - which starts on Friday!! Oh - and a new school bag as his rucksack was literally coming apartI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
I survived the school shopping although too be fair most has been ordered online.
Had to get DD school shoes - we actually agreed on a pair quite quickly - £50 (Clarkes but will last her all year), PE trainers as she is now a bigger size - £48.
Lots of stationary - £20.
Was also conned out of some new tops from Primark but they are only a few £'s each I don't feel too bad!!
Tried on some school trousers in N£xt but as DD is a curvaceous 13yr old nothing fits properly so ordered online some trousers which looked suitable, arrived on Thurs and they fit lovely (usually if the waist fits the legs are too long by loads but these are amazing).
Ordered school jumper online - delivery anyday now.
Just need to order school shirts - hoping to get some more surveys done and can then use Amazon vouchers.
Thurs was a NSD for me as did home things, DD went to cinema and DH collected her so he had to pay for McD's!!!
Yesterday was a spend day as went to local theme park - won't talk about total cost but have to remember we are making memories!!
Today will probably be a spend day as need cat food and have a Lidl voucher to use or maybe tomorrow we will do that.
Now up to 13 NSD's - hoping to hit 15 by Tues!!
September challenge is nearly sorted - have it all written in a notebook, will just write it up in word and will post tomorrow.0 -
Morning everyone, sorry I haven't been posting regularly. It has been a busy and chaotic week being back at work.
I did manage to get my 4 NSDs this week which is good. I have spent some time making my food plan for the rest of the week and now need to shop for it - may do that tomorrow as tonight's dinner is sorted.
It is a beautiful day here so I have a washing out on the line already. I have more washing to do but I am going to leave it and head out for a walk to make the most of the weather. When I am out I will check to see how the local brambles are coming along - when ready I will pick some and make enough bramble jelly to last until next year.
Fmess I am glad you are feeling better.0 -

Morning all,
Yesterday I spent as went to the hairdressers and then picked up all the bits I forgot during the main monthly food shop! Oh well. SFDs are really not happening this month!
I had a productive day cleaning and doing some school work and then batch cooked meatballs in a tomato and chunky veg sauceHoping for another productive day today but this one should be a SFD

Morning guys.
Yesterday we bought dog food but it was £5 less than I had budgeted for so that covered DH's Asda spend later of £3.38 on peanuts, chocolate and reduced bread. Other than that we didn't spend. Did some clearing up in the garden and a visit to the tip before it started raining and never stopped.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Morning all
Fmess - August is always a struggle for nsd's for me as well. Obviously I'm off work all month, with the kids to entertain. I just remind myself that this is what I do the exam stuff for (partly anyways). I doubt I'll get another one between the end of the month.
We had an unexpected day out yesterday. Unexpected because it was dh that suggested it. It was lovely - a trip to York. Yes, it was spendy, and there was an ulterior motive that there was a footy match that he wanted to take ds to see. It meant dd and I could go to the Dungeon though, that we missed while we were in London and we thoroughly enjoyed that. I also got some really good bargains in terms of work trousers, leggings for dd and a Christmas present for bestie at BHS. But of course I've spent cash on the way...
On a more positive note in terms of being mse - I think I've managed to get us a remortgage on the house. It will cost us the same as we are paying at the moment but will take over 3 years off the mortgage term. I'm thrilled because it seems as though my credit is finally starting to recover from the DMP. Not that I want to take out a load of credit, but my current mortgage rate is an eye watering 4.78% and I've been desperate to deal with that for years. We have the agreement in principle, so fingers crossed.
One more week to go then back to business as usual...Don't get me wrong, I love my job but it's hard work and really tiring.
Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hi All
Another case of he who dares wins. The 2 tops I mentioned being sub par from Next, well I emailed in to complain and despite the fact they had been washed a number of times customer services told me to bring them in and they will refund me the £12. So I am pleased with that.
This morning we have so far exchanged a gift of 3 romper suits for a larger size, used up all our shraps in the self service till, used a triple points coupon, & been given a free ticket to park. Which we in turn passed on to someone else. So thats 3 families parking for 3 hours in total for less than £1 each. Horray to diddling the greedy council!
Off for another swim in the sea this afternoon and more cleaning and tidying round the in laws home.

Morning all,
A NSD yesterday which is good news and I'll manage another today, providing work are forthwith with reimbursing me as I need to get some food in for some clients.
Can't believe it's nearly September. Scary.0
