NST August: Cut the chaff

Am up to 7 NSDs so won't beat last month's record, but if I get at least one more than I will have achieved my second highest amount of NSDs. Had a good weekend, had a quiet day on Saturday. I went food shopping whilst my OH went to the football (which i was gutted to miss as we won 3-1), picking up all the things which are cheaper in H Bargains/Iceland etc. Of course I got home with my massive amount of shopping and discovered I had forgotten the bread! Have seriously spent on food for my September grocery shop (my food budget month runs from the 27th to 26th of each month) so will have to be careful, but we have so much food that I've had to be creative with the storage of food in the kitchen!
Today wont be a NSD as we need milk, but I have deliberately potted all my change apart from the amount I need for Milk so I can't spend anything more.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Saturday turned out to be a NSD.
Sunday we did a food shop at Lidl with the voucher out of the paper.
Was hoping today would be a NSD but had to go to T3sco for GF bread as need to make breadcrumbs to take to butcher who is making our sausages this week.
Tomorrow should be a NSD and hopefully Weds as well....or is that tempting fate???0 -

As we near the end of August, I want to say a huge 'thank you' to all you lovely turtles out there, for keeping going through the month. I disappeared on day 3 and thereafter lost the plot. I Did manage a few targets - the relationships one, and the not spending on wants one, as buying anything other than food or travel just seemd pointless.
I have managed to do some exercise (and fall and skid along when running in the woods, d'oh) and get some physio on my shoulder which had become almost immobile with the pain.
September will hold its own challenges - back to work, mum's mastectomy + subsequent treatment, sorting out the will, the continued clearing of dad's house, and of course, 'life' here with dd and dh.
I definitely have not overspent in August, which was a very tight month for us. And am grateful for that. September will be just as tight as dh's jsa money stops after the first week.
As kat would have said: Onwards and Upwards!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Apple So sorry that life has been so unkind to you lately. I hope your shoulder gets better very soon. And that Septembers personal challenges are possible to overcome. Bob" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Apple - thank you for starting the thread in August. It's so lovely to see you back at the end, life has been tough on you and I hope September can only get better for you.
Are you entitled to any other benefits if your DH does not get any JSA?0 -
Hugs apple, how amazing of you to come back and update us when you're obviously very busy. Well done on all of your achievements in August and this thread, you set us up very well
Hope all goes well with your mum. Thinking of you.
