    Thanks dolly and clippy

Today I'm going to a christening and then having dinner with my family. Hoping everyone is doing ok but there will no doubt be a few tears :(

Just been to get petrol and supplies to last until payday - milk, poop scoop bags and shower gel. Felt so weird, I haven't had to buy shower gel in years as just got by on Christmas gift sets but I've finally ran out of everything!

Hopefully my payment from checkout smart will clear tomorrow and I'll get below the £1700 mark :)

I'm back after a lovely holiday. I've caught up on this thread and seems everyone has been busy. I'm going to watch and read for the rest of the month ready to start again in September. I really need to spend the rest of August decluttering and organising my life ready to go back to school :( Not looking forward to another new school year.

  • Hi All. I am delurking again to offer my sympathies.

Fmess I am so sorry to hear about your gran. Sending hugs.

Evkizzy I hope your cat is recovering well after some TLC from you.

I am heading back to work tomorrow, after a break of a year and a half due to stress. I am feeling quite apprehensive but also that I really need to be much more organised and focussed. I would like to join in the thread for the rest of the month and then attempt to take part in the challenge properly in September as I know that this will help me.

Initially, for the next week I will set myself a target of having 4 NSDs. I am not sure if this is realistic but only one way to find out.

Glad you had a lovely holiday dizzy

Welcome allie, 4 SFDs sounds like a sensible plan for a week :)

Just got home from christening, took gf food but didn't feel like eating so brought it back and it'll do for lunches/dinners for two days. Just contemplating another dog walk or sitting in the garden :)

    Afternoon all :)

    Welcome allie :D

Had a lovely day today. Afternoon tea which was £14 but brought the cake home. Just eating it now and it's so big I feel a bit sick :( bought some lovely shoes for £28, really high wedges so need to practice walking in them! Also got some bargains as I'm going to two wedding receptions soon and was planning on putting £20 in a card for each. Went past a local gift shop today and they had gorgeous mr & Mrs owl mugs and they were £9.60 for both mugs! Bought them plus an extra £1 for gift wrap. Then thought about it and bought the 2nd set for the other couple. So saved about £20 and got a lovely gift :)

Top tip- Last night I cooked a curry for me and my guest and decided to make chappattis instead of buying nann bread. Cannot believe how cheap it was. Cost about £2 for 1.5kg whole meal flour and I made about 20! Still got loads of flour left! Going to have a different curry with some more tonight :) Deffo will make them again :)

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Congratulations Clippy on being debt free!

    Welcome back Dizzy

    Allie Good luck to you.

So today I finally bagged a NSD. Helped in part because I shopped yesterday and the 2 chickens are serving us well. Did fajitas last night, sandwiches at lunchtime and a chicken salad tonight.
I am out tommorow evening doing a trial shift for a potential part time job (to supplement my new venture whilst it builds up) so the good old chicken will do a thai green curry for OH and maybe me depending on what time they want me till. My first ever job in London was a bar job in a pub in mansion house. The two lovely lunchtime serving ladies would always put up enormous portions of jacket spud and topping for us evening staff and we usually devoured them come 9pm break. Maybe there will be lovely staff there too (hopeful face)

Worked from 12 to 7pm today doing a party at mine. Pooped.

    Nighty night

  • Morning all,

Unlike me, but I managed a NSD on a weekend! Well on my way to meet my target.

I've no plans this week, like nothing in my diary so in theory I should manage a good few NSD's however, as always, no plans worries me and I fear impromptu events may crop us and cost me. I'll keep the purse strings tight.

Bob - all the best in the new venture.

clippy - the gifts sound nicer than cash in the card and well done for coming in cheaper.

bob - good luck with your shift.

Today will be a spend day, I am taking the kids to the cinema, we should have gone the week before our hols but they were so badly behaved I wouldn't take them.

I had to order a new washing machine yesterday, ours is about to die, the drum is loose and is making a horrific racket, it is less than 3 years old too. I have ordered a Samsung one with a 5 year parts & labour guarantee, it is quite a lot more fancy than I need really but has excellent reviews, I used Quidco for the £10 bonus they are offering plus £7.72 cashback (in about a decade;)) plus £15 Boots advantage points. Still gutted that I've had to spend so much though.
