Sorry to hear that evkizzy, hope your kitty gets better soon.

Unexpected events yesterday. Was supposed to go for a free walk with a friend but the rain changed that to coffee and cake. Went to visit my gran who I knew wasn't doing so well and she passed away whilst I was there. So glad to be there when it happened and relieved she is now in a happier place but a little shell shocked.

Going to keep busy and probably visit my friend who has had a rough week.

Hoping today will be a SFD.

Oh Evkizzy, I feel your pain re vet bills (one of mine regularly costs me a few hundred pounds a year). Hope the cat is ok. You're doing amazing, and will come back from this better and stronger.
Hugs to you FMess - hope you're doing ok.

    Morning All

It feels like August has been a hugely sad month for so many people in our little Turtle community. Without meaning to sound trite I hope September will bring all of us more hope and happiness.

Have been up since 7 today so not a bad start time. OH has gone to sort an ebay sale I made from our shop. We then need to go and start pricing up my sons new school uniform. He left his infant school at the start of the summer so its a whole new kit for Juniors. However this is coming from a seperate purse from my much depleted household pot.

I've so far managed to don my wonderwoman cape and whirl around the house doing dailies. Bin out, recycling out. Washing on. Dry clothing distributed and packed away. DW emptied. Still more to do but the little one has just fallen asleep after a feed on me so Im going nowhere till OH gets back.

I know there are seperate sections for this but do any of you have any suggestions on good kids savings accounts post interest rate reduction? My kids cash accounts will have the full quarter percent slashed from september. Ideally I would like a physical location bank to show my son where his money is going. But if it has to be online so be it.

    Right on with the show.

    Bob

Fmess - sending you hugs, lovely one. I'm personally glad you were there with her - it will mean a lot to other people that she was not alone at the end. x

Hope you feel better soon ccl

Thanks ccl, bob and apple. I am glad I was there and strangely enough she'd just seen another granddaughter who doesn't love locally and had popped in whilst passing by. I feel generally ok but have what I term as an 'emotional hangover' - my body doesn't seem to want to do anything and I've watched the Olympics since I woke up at 8am!

On the positive SFD achieved :)

Fmess It possibly goes to show that we humans do have a 6th sense type thing. You so often hear of people hanging on just until they have finished their business here. Im not surprised you feel dazed.

Fmess - sorry to hear about your grandma.

I bought two new underbed storage bags yesterday reduced to £3.99 each, the one we had was huge and then really heavy when full and it had gotten badly torn trying to pull it out. Had a sort out when we moved the winter clothes across and got rid of some very tatty things for recycling. Also bought a new loo seat reduced from £32 to £7, it is lovely and has good quality fittings so should last.

Evkizzy- sorry to hear about your fur baby, hope he is on the mend after some rest :(

Fmess- very sorry for your loss but I think it would have been a great comfort that you were there for her at the end

I've not checked in all week, not had that many sfd but keeping roughly within budget.

I got paid on Friday so have started new budgets again. Going to keep a proper tally on food and Airbnb spends this month to make sure it's accurate!

Also I have paid the last amount off my credit card :T:j:beer:

However I have decided to get my new kitchen fitted in Nov which also includes moving gas pipes and getting a new boiler which will now be in the bathroom :T I am hoping for it to come in around the £5.5k mark. Makes sense to do it all together to minimise mess and disruption. I have saved £1000 so far and will put the cost of the units on my cc card. The rest will be in cash saved between now and then.

Means I will be getting into debt again but makes sense to do it in November when I had planned a few week break from Airbnb guests than do it in the summer once I had saved up which is peak guest time so would loose more income.

Today I've got a contact check and am having afternoon tea with my current guest first. Hoping they can fit us into my favourite place. Other than that I am maybe going to the gym or if not will do some tidying in my drawer of doom

    Have a great day :)
