    Most well brought up young adults would be ashamed to cadge off their parents, even if the parents were to allow it.



    Depends on the parents, my mum and step-dad are both retired and live extremely frugally, I earn £70k a year. Every time I see my mum if we eat out I try and pay, she won't let me, says she likes to treat her boy (I'm 42). She actually gets offended if I try and sneak off and pay when I go to the loo.


    My dad on the other hand, is more than happy to let me pay, and he's much better off financially than my mum.
