The chargeback doesn't come from your bank, they just request it from the receiving bank, which I guess would be Paypal's bank in your case.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -
since LCH dont have any staff left paypal certainly arent working with them, what they mean is they will be working with the administrators.
Its why Chargeback is a very good idea for these claims, LCH would have to dispute the chargeback within 60 days, there is no one there who could dispute th0 -
Tracey_Syrett wrote: »That is exactly right Natalie. You seem to no a lot of what the protocol is. How does it work. PayPal said to me today they were in talks with the administrators to try to get our money back. But if there wasn't money to get back would it then be down to PayPal to pay us out in which case the women replied to me no PayPal will not be is during any refunds to us..so I said well we no there's no money to get off lch so why are you in talks with the administrators . The women said they are trying to get our money back for us. I really honesty feel hand on heart we are not going to get any money back from PayPal. Infact they've told me twice to pursue a chargeback from my bank
Been doing a bit of reading about insolvency today, mostly to try and see if I could work out what the delay is. PayPal originally seemed very confident that we were all covered. If there was doubt then to make a statement to MSE was a bit stupid. I really don't think companies have caught up with 'new' commerce and just how complicated it can be. At the end of this there is probably a very nervous bank that knows it is about to be hit by a very big bill from PayPal, Visa etc for refunds. But surely it is there job to know they can be hit by these things and be underwritten accordingly? This issue may be being poured over by the contract lawyers, as you can write out your liability to chargebacks, something I assume PayPal do in their user agreement.
The more I look at it, the more complicated it gets... Whilst a case is still open we still have the chance of a refund. Do not give up hope just yet.0 -
This has been posted before. Worth sharing again. Chapter 7 pg 62. Explains the entire process and who is responsible for bearing the loss. Can't see much evidence in any here that we will not get a refund. However, nothing certain until the cash is back.

Hi Richard. I'm going into my bank again tomorrow. Because we are getting nowhere with PayPal. I'm sure they want us to all try to claim back from our banks so they can get off the hook.. They ain't making themselves look very good0

I think looking at all the posts on here today (not many yesterday lol) Things for claiming the money bank from the central bank that l.c.hols used have stalled on certain areas, Paypal and others are thus having to wait until a certain time constraint when legally they can reclaim the money back until then i think we are going to have to be very patient and remember Martins words "think of it as plan for the worst and hope for the best"0

I'm just getting fed up of them fobbing us off. They do notice clear answers. if we knew when or if we were getting a refund we could be prepared.,if I new I wasn't going to get the refund I wouldn't even consider getting myself into £1850 worth of credit card debt. I would of just saved up and gone on holiday next year. Let me no if you get a refund from ur bank ricjsrd0

I think the 2 people they've paid out was a mistake on there part. Since then they've probably realised the massive billion pound bull they're gona face and re thought about paying us out. They told me again today to apply at my bank for chargeback. They are just fobbing is off and not giving us any clear information. It's day 23 for me and I can put my life on it we will be still sitting here 2-4 weeks from now saying the same thing over and over again.0
