TalkTalk Customer Poll

After I signed up with TalkTalk it took around 4 weeks to get connected. Had it for months now and only ever had two problems (internet would not connect on two occasions), but both were resolved within a day. I think for the price, and the fact that you no longer have BT line rental, its great.
As far as speed goes, I only ever get 3.8 or 3.9 mbps b ut I think it has a lot to do with the local exchanges. It's fast enough and will probably keep getting faster.
Would recommend but be prepared to wait at first!2022 wins: PS5 bundle, SSD drive, luxury truffles

From non-BT landlines just dial 0808 1 703 703 , wait for the voiceprompt and enter the follow-on telephone number. For example: 0808 1 703 703 -wait for voiceprompt- 001 818 456 4567.Hi - been looking for something on forums but can't find it. I have had talk talk option 3 for a while. nightmare then ok when up and running. is it possible for me to use 1899 and 18185 with these guys. it doesn't seem to work so i have to pay talktalk rates for mobiles etc. is there something i'm missing or is it just tough luck?
Or from mobiles* dial 020 81 80 2828, wait for the voiceprompt and enter the follow-on telephone number. After dialling the follow-on telephone number do NOT press the green ?send? button on your mobile again otherwise the call may be carried by your mobile operator!0 -
I have been reading the threads regarding Talk Talk and to be honest it is exactly the same nightmare we encountered with BT. 30+ calls to an Indian call centre with every call ending in a promise to call us back. (Never happened!) Over 3 months to finally get a decent broadband connetion...It took us threatening legal action for them to finally send a 'free' engineer who sorted THEIR line out within 30 mins... No probs since. Only plus.. we got a prompt refund afterwards.0

I must admit that I had my doubts after the first month or so, the Indian call centres were useless but once you managed to get to the Brits problems were cleared very quickly and after more than a year I am pleased with the service, they even switched me to a free broadband when the local exchange was unbundled, I would probably have spotted it sooner or later, but they did it without prompting. I do have occasional problems with my PC recognising the router, but my PC is pretty ancient so that is probably me. Overall I think that it is a pretty good deal.0

Too may problems to list!!
I did not save any money - I was paying out more, I had no broadband for over 3 months and so much hassel.
I sent a complaint letter which was ignored, in the end I gave up trying to contact them.

My connection came before the due date. Had no web before sign up so there was no problem starting up . Trouble free connection and free calls to mum in Australia. Can't be bad. My monthly charge is cheeper than with BT, and that was with out BB.0

:j In defence of Talktalk, I have to say that the service I get is fantastic. I get free broadband (it was costing me £24.99 pm before) and all my national daytime calls are free except mobiles and premium rate numbers. I speak to my family in Tenerife for an hour at a time and its FREE. I've found that their technical service is great - one guy talked me through a problem for 45 mins, saying he would make sure he got to the bottom of it for me. No complaints at all.0

We had unfortunately been a 'customer' of TT for 18 months. It took nearly 6 months for our Broadband to be activated. At the beginning of August, there was a fault on our line which meant we could not make and receive calls.
The fault was not fixed until the beginning of Sep. As a result, we had to make all calls through my mobile, which cost us nearly £200 (We are still awaiting a refund from TT).
We made 3 or 4 calls a day to TT to try and get the issue resolved, each time being told it would be fixed within 48 hours (days more like). Our calls were supposed to be divereted to the mobile, but only worked sporadically.
No attempt was made by TT to update us, or offer compensation, and on a couple of occasions, we were rudely spoken to by their staff. I have NEVER experienced such terrible 'service' as this.
As such, we have left TT and have joined Tiscali after getting nowhere. We even got sent a customer satisfaction survey from them, along with 2 bills for Line rental, and various texts to say our issue had been resolved, when it had not.
Stay Away from TT at all costs. As my Mother would say 'Buy Cheap, Pay Dear'-we certainly did.0 -
I want to go with TT option 3. Would my BT Router ( I have the wireless one) be ok or would i need to get their free one?0
