TalkTalk Customer Poll
Comments

Am on phone now, trying to work out who I owe what to, BT were a fright for charges they couldn't explain, talktalk were a shop of horrors, and now I discover that pipex messed up with the transfer of my bb service because they didn't enter my postcode properly!!!! just off to run around the room letting off steam a mo; ah, thats better.
BT say I owe them £234.60 for cancellation charges, the nice man says I will receive a breakdown of the charges in the post and I will take this down to pipex for a camping trip til they sort out which bit they want to pay!!!!
As for talktalk, I NEVER EVER EVER EVER want to have to try to deal with any of them again, from lying salesmen to abusive customer 'service' staff with virtually no grasp of the same language, and ridiculous threatening letters I would advise anyone thinking of going for them, RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION, FAST AND NOW! Exasperation doesn't come close to it!0

i have been with talktalk a number of months and my internet used to go off but i have had a huge response in help and have been delighted to be up and running again,i am able to reach download speeds that i was never able to reach before and my internet is working perfect
i had a conversation on the phone and was kindly sent a brand new router free of charge,im not saying that they will give everyone these but i was lucky and they did understand all the problems i used to have
i just want to say talktalk if you keep up the good work you will soon be respected a LOT more
also not every company is respected but you will gain some when the customers become aware that you are dealing with the problems as fast as you can
also i would like to say if you only have 1 computer and are using a router it is more reliable using the modem
when i had a modem i used to upgrade the driver which is downloaded for free and i also reached amazing speeds with the new drivers,
these are worth getting as talk talk drivers would have been around a long time problies without changing it and puting it on disk so it is worth getting them0

give it a try as talktalk boy said 30 days trialDon'tskipit wrote: »Help, I'm in a bit of a dilemma.
 I currently have:
Landline rental BT - approx £11 pm
Talk Talk calls - average £6 pm
Broadband - NTL now Virgin. Should be £18 pm - but have never had to pay that. I always complain about service  and have only paid half price for the last three years.
Yesterday, received statement from Virgin BB for £18. Rang the 0845 No. got through to India. Eventually was connected to Virgin in UK - customer services (gave me freephone direct no. 0800 052 9403). I was offered BB for £10 pm for the next 12 months. The bloke I spoke to said no one should ever pay the full price for BB - maybe he was into MSE!
But, Talk Talk rang me last night, offered me 30 day free trial for Talk 2 International - line rental, free calls evenings and weekends, and BB for £16.39.
Sounds too good to be true - what do you think?
if you like it then fine keep it
also the price will problies go down as my linerental and calls went down instead of up,was only about a pound but imagine if they done it every year to beat everyone?imagine the price gap between other isp
talktalk even give you all calls in and now you dont even need that weird number to phone abroad,
i must say my problems were SO bad but now they are working it all out
 1,lowering prices
2,helping out instead of just taking money
3,they will listen if you listed
 4,they alsow negotiate
5,they are more reliable than ever before in my eyes0

Initial setup was a nightmare. Delays in promised dates, little support or information offered.
However I perservered with them and ever since all services were connected I must give them their due, namely:
 (1) Fast and reliable Internet broadband speed, much better than BT's - I use a wireless capable Ethernet router (my separate purchase) and my main laptop PC is connected via cable to an Ethernet port. Some other devices (streamer, etc) work wirelessly.
 (2) Great call package. Pity that the overseas family, friends and contacts I regurlarly call are all abondoning their landlines, in favour of just having a mobile. So those free International calls not looking as good as it did initially, but that is not TalKTalk's fault.
 (3) Bill description and billing easy to understand and comprehend: that is after that rather confusing initial bill.
Think they are finally sorting most problems out so glad I gave them a chance.0

 most of the time its fine, but when there is a problem it can be off for at least 4 days at a time and when you phone customer services they dont want to know that the problems at there end its always my end. its very frustrating especially when im selling things on ebay and buyers are getting stressed about you not replying to them
and to be honest most of the time i have trouble understanding what the customer service person is saying to me because they are foriegn.
:j but at the mo its all good (for how long?):D0

I didn't vote in the poll because we went with the phone only option but I wanted to say that it's been brilliant.
1st - we only signed up because the Carphone Warehouse salesman was cute (and my husband, who was present, is still chuckling) I DID read the small print but wouldn't have signed up had the guy not been so charming.
So, we went into it expecting a disaster but it's been amazing. The main selling point (besides the green eyes) was that our kids and parents are all abroad and Talk Talk promised free international calls any time. I didn't actually believe it and kept the paperwork nearby, ready for a fight but, unbelievably, we've had a total of 9 (!) hours of international calls in two months at no charge.
That said, they've called a couple of times to "offer upgrades" to our service but I've been absolutely clear that we will NOT use their broadband until they start getting better reviews.
So the phone service for foreigners is ace - especially if you have an 18 year old who just wants to talk to her mom through an 8 hour time difference.

I was just transferred to TalkTalk broadband today. It was quick (about two weeks after ordering) and painless with only the downtime it took to enter my new password details into our existing wireless router.
Everything seems to be working ok, though internet pages take noticably longer to load than they used to with Pipex. But I think it's worth it for £10 less a month.0

Andy have just read your posting about T.T. I have been suffereing for four months, (actually since day two of signing up), I have 18 pages of notes detailing the problems that I have incurred, I have spoken to most of their staff in Deli, South Africa and occassionally managed to get through to the U.K. If I fail to get the answers that I need, then I shall take your advice and tell them where to go..................It's nice to know that I'm not the only person to have suffered from their gross incompetence.0
