Signed up last year BB was activated in August had a few minor problems initially but it all seemed to calm down In Jan 07 out of nowhere and for no reason they cut me off completely claiming I owed money.
I did not owe the money I proved this to them they apologised but said it would take 48 hrs to reactivate me I waited the 48 hrs and I wasnt reconnected I was also pregnant and admitted to hospital during these 48 hrs I rang them again and they said sorry it wasnt put down to be reactivated and it was going to take another 48 hrs I still wasnt reconnected so I rang again they said BT had put some kind of block on my line but they were trying to work around it and that as I had been totally disconnected I would be treat as a new customer I waited a week phoned them and they said it was definately BT's fault I was completely peed off by this point:mad:
I rang BT and asked what was going on and what talk talk had said they said they could not see anything wrong with my line I asked if they could get my phone reconnected they said yes will be live within 2 hrs and it was I am now a happy BT customer TT often ring and ask me to switch they get a right ear bashing from me I would never in a million years go back to them I will not ever leave BT again I dont care how cheap TT are:j:love: Getting married to the man of my dreams 5th November 2011

I agree, a total nightmare, customer service is dire0
-
Ok so it's cheap, fair enough, but it sounds like more than a few users are having enormous difficulties and that alone would be enough to put me off ever taking BB from TT.
We are TT customers but for telephone only and that works fine, we switched to Onetel a couple/three years ago and became TT customers when Onetel merged with / bought / were bought by TT.
Our BB is provided by Metronet. Our connection is fast, stable and reliable for £12 / month. It NEVER drops out, not once. If you're having trouble with TT consider Metronet. No, I don't work for them. :-)0 -
We had no phone line for weeks on end, the broadband was intermittent and the call centre staff were awful. I cancelled our contract after 6 weeks and through some perserverance we got over £120 in compensation back. Absolute rubbish, their staff lied and were caught out.0

The biggest mistake I made was joining Talk Talk last week. I was enticed into joining as I had an account with Onetel who are now owned by TT. I was offered fantastic phone rates. Joined and noticed instantly that my Broadband jumped to 10 Megs but in real terms was as bad as a dial up connection! I rang them several times to resolve this and kept on being referred to a call centre in South Africa. they wanted me to carry out speed tests and blame my router and PC and the location of my PC from the the telephone socket! I also enquired about this fantastic phone rate I'd been promised by the sales team only to learn that it wasn't correct!
the BB speed kept on fluctuating and was given various reasons why things could be wrong. Despite me explaining to them that when I was with BT, I did not have any problems why then with them? they said they could not explain it. Finally asked for a disconnection yesterday and was told that TT were doing me a favour by giving me free BB access! I'd had enough by then and ignored the unnecessary conversation with their technical team. I now have to wait until 3rd October to switch back to BT! What a nightmare and put up with the POOR performance of their service! I wouldn't recommend anyone joining TT not even if I was saving money!0 -
I would like to add my experience of broadband with Talk Talk. They are very friendly, know how to apologise, thank you for your being patient.
You seem to go around in circles:money:but get no where. 'All our staff are busy but your call is important to us. Finally through, try your modem, try a filter, try a new modem. Checks needed in Tech support, checks needed in 2nd line team. Sorry unable to get through, the line is very busy. We will call you back. It is a problem in your house possibly, yes we send an engineer to your home first, yes we send an engineer to the exchange first
. Please allow up to 48 hours'. Weeks of constant phone calls back and forth and some complaining to ensure broadband connection once again. :T 0 -
got £700 quid compo from talk talk after almost 20 hours of phone calls to switch back our business broadband after they illegally switched us.
absolutely awful service. took 6 weeks to get switched back.... and not through our lack of trying believe me.. caused no end of problems to our business0 -
A little trouble connecting early on setting up due to problems with the disk supplied!! Other than that it has been pretty much ok. Call package is great and the broadband speed has doubled since I initially joined.
If there was still a gripe, it would be that I would like to be informed when any maintenance is being carried out on the network as I have occassionally (very rare) had no connection due to this, much to my frustration!!
Overall an 8/100 -
Had a very friendly, cheapish service that worked with OnetTel. OneTel were then taken over by Talk Talk. A small time time later we had a phone call that implied that we had to transfer to our new provider, but the service would be cheaper overall (although it would mean changing our main contact e-mail address). So we transferred.
:j
The day of the transfer arrived and the phone went dead for 10 hours. When we did start to use it we found that there was no dial tone most of the time and half the people that were trying to contact us were not getting a response. On top of that we could not get the internet service to work (an ICT teacher so may know a bit about settings etc.). We did the responsible thing and spoke to our provider. Our hour long phone calls (most of the hour spent waiting for a 4 minute call that told us they were the wrong people to deal with it only to find the same story when we dialled the next number provided) elicited very little fruit.
After many weeks of trying and getting nowhere we decided to invoke our right to cancel the service and transfer to BT. This is where we got caught in a terminal loop. BT could not offer us a new phone service until Talk Talk released the LLU (at the local exchange). Talk Talk would not release the LLU untill we had paid them a £70 disconnection fee for a service that had not been apparent. The only way to get out of the stalemate was to contact OFCOM.
OFCOM gave us the information and correct advice to transfer from one provider to another. They also informed us that any charges and time penalities, legal fees etc that resulted would be paid by Talk Talk. We also found out at this stage that we had no need to transfer service in the first place. Armed with this information we made the change back to BT and our old ISP - Pipex. Pipex have excellent British customer service and have responded to each of our requests promptly.
We have now had just over a week of blissful telephone service and 3 days of a working internet connection (although a Summer of silence on the internet has also had its advantages). We now look to see what the next atsge of the saga brings. We are hoping that silence on the part of Talk Talk will speak volumes.Jammy Dodger
