TalkTalk Customer Poll

I feel a bit of a fool being sold to by a door step seller and my experience with Talk Talk has taught me why that's never a good idea. Our set up was relatively pain free but our broadband drops out with regularity... like at least 10 times a day.
Our phone and therefore internet line goes down a bit too. i was once off for a week and my queries about whether i would be paying proportionately less bill that month were met with stoney silence.
I have also enquired as to whether my bill could go down now that new customers are being enticed with a cheaper deal but again no answer.
The help desk makes me want to pluck nose hairs so I avoid it if at all possible. I'm counting down to switching!0 -
talk talk
i am not a CURRENT customer
I had a talk talk broadband account for a couple of years and a landline customer for a year, this was fine until there was a problem, it cost about 3 days and hours on the phone to get this sorted - which turned out to be an error on THEIR end. But we had to pay the cost of fixing it.
we decided to go back to BT, YES more expensive but at least they are reliable, have call centres in the UK and do actually phone back when they say they will. THEN the saga started.
i used the online form to request a MAC code to transfer, it is supposed to take 5 working days. 3 weeks later nothing, I did this again, still nothing. I called and spoke to someone who told me it would take a couple of days to get the MAC code and they would call back with it, 1 week nothing. I called again, they promised to phone in the next 24 hours - nothing in the week. this went on for months. Baring in mind I spent and average of 40minutes on hold each time I called. I wrote to customer services - I never did get a reply. I emailed customer services after about 2 MORE months (it took about 6 months in total) I got a MAC code and transferred to BT.
Talk talk then continued to bill me for broadband for the next 6 months, each time threatening to take me to court, each tiem I called and waitied on hold for around 40 minutes to then be told to call someone else, each time they promised to resolve the problem. IN the end - close to going crazy - I involved Trading standards as they were billing me for a service they were not providing which is illegal. I then got a call from their "higher level complaints department" who said they would fix the problem, I got another bill, I called them, I got another bill. It took a total of nearly 14 months to tranfer from talk talk.
So YES they may be cheap, IF you are somewhere that qualifies for the new "free" broadband. which is fine if you will NEVER want to leave because it was a nightmare to get out of there.
some things are worth paying extra for. BT have been amazing when i have technical problems and sent me a new wireless router recently when mine packed up.
Sometimes you get what you pay for!

I switched just over a year ago no problems and saving loads on the phone bill. Can't get the free broadband in my area but I think £10 a month is a good deal.
One small problem I have is that I don't get Nectar points on the broadband account dispite repeatly complaining, via email the replies I receive are never relivent to my coments. Via phone I am promised the points will be added but they never are. Via post I sent the copies of my bills to prove points were not being awarded and the reply said that I was getting the points on my Nectar account even alothough they are not showing on the bill, which is utter rubbish. I've just posted another letter pointing out that I'm still not getting the points, maybe I'm being petty as we are only talking about Nectar points which are worth pennies, and I wonder if it's worth the hassle. I'd like to know if other customers are getting their Nectar points on both phone and broadband accounts with no problems or is it just me?0 -

Toucan charged me £70 as early cancellation and when I call TalkTalk, they keep transferring me and I have to hold and repeat whole story again and again and have to hang up at last.
They stopped updating my online statement from june and whenever I call them, they say they cant access my account and they will let me know later. But they never call back.
I have sent a last email to them, if they wont do anything, I am going to report it to Ofcom.
I had sooooooo much trouble with Talk Talk, i nearly burst a blood vessell!!. just to say, write to the following address and copy to.
i have had personal assistance and asked for compensation of 4 months free, waiver of connection and router and free caller ID. They have agreed to this and will be connected next week.

I have been with talk talk, firstly for my phone and then I took out the international plan which includes broadband for 18 months now. The only problem that I encountered with it was with their modem, I changed back to my original modem and everything has up until now been fine. For the money that I pay I think that it is good value!0

i'VE MADE MYSELF A MEMBER ON HERE JUST SO i CAN RANT AND RAVE ABOUT TALKTALK!
Over a 2 week period (chasing my modem for my free broadband) I spent no less than 2hrs 40 mins with God knows how many staff, 99% of which couldn't hardly speak English. They couldn't find me on their system, no I wasn't a customer, they hadn't received any information about me etc. etc. One Friday night I spent 1hr 30 mins on the phone, by which time I was in floods and floods of tears and distraught that I couldn't find out any information - especially when they were all foreigners and you couldn't understand them.
After 3 weeks I told them to stuff everything, was going to report them to OFCOM, and duly went back to BT!
Everytime I see TalkTalk sponsoring a programme on TV, I get so angry I want to scream and shout at the screen!0 -
Switched to TT over 12 months ago with early minimal problem quickly resolved by call centre. Best value I can find for Broadband and calls.0

 Been a TalkTalk customer since the very beginning... Seems like decades. Yes they are the cheapest, so I stay. Fool that I am. If someone else would come vaguely close in price and free calls 24/7 up to 8Mb broadband, I run some where around the 4 to 6 Mb download upload snail pace, but then the modem keeps "chucking me off" the www then I would jump ship yesterday and leave TalkTalk doing what they do best TalkTalk a load of hot air.. Wouldn't know customer service if it bit them on the ar er arm that was it!!! :mad:0

I signed up with Talk Talk in April and got connected up in 3 weeks. I've not had any problems with them although despite being promised up to 8Mb broadband, 2 different speed tests give me 0.5Mb or 5Mb. I am happy to recommend them. They've even cut the cost of line rental by 50p since I signed up.0

I have always tried to be relaxed about the switch over appreciating that when a huge amount of customers convert there are always initial issues. However it is now 18 months on and there are still annoying things like it doesn't recognise my password sometimes even tho its set up to use the same one each time. I then have to disconnect and rekey it where it may or may not work, after several attempts it works leaving me scratching my head! The american 1471 voice is REALLY ANNOYING too!0
