Do what I have done & get your own back on tesco :D Everyone has been told that if you order more wine of your choice they will cedit £10 back to your account by way of an apology as you cant use the voucher any longer - correct? Well order your wine, through Quidco ofcourse and use a code for 1000 extra points, no minimum spend as far as I can see (posted in voucher section - tesco codes sticky) then call for your £10 credit. Sounds like a bargain to me :j I can't see any problems with this plan as I doubt the call centre people will notice. I will update if sucssful in the morning.
how can u be sure they will credit the £10? is this "automatic"? also whats the code no?:rotfl:

Got the phone call Tuesday night 8.55pm!
I had ordered 18 granacha, and 2 x 6 white wine,I was given the option to cancel the whole lot or just get the white.
I said to the guy I used a £15 off £50 code and I was told the £15 would still come off .:D
So I should get 12 white for £15, not bad deal! As long as the £15 DOES come off.
    Delivery is due tomorrow

Wasn't going to complain but might now as I have reasonable grounds to expect delivery.

    Reply received from one of the TESCO drones regarding the granacha debacle;

I'm sorry that we were unable to provide you with our Tesco Simply Garnacha which we had on offer. I can appreciate how disappointed you must have been.

We do our very best to have enough stock to meet customer demand, but unfortunately we got it wrong on this occasion.

I've let our Tesco.com Team know and they'll try very hard to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this has caused.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to contact us.

Will complain that no alternative offered and why wasnt the order retained with revised delivery date until further stocks available. This is really not acceptable trading etiquette for such a large company.

    Anyone else been fobbed off?
:o Keep trying.........................what else is there to do? :o

    I had similar :-

Thank you for your email addressed to Sir Terry Leahy, to which I have been asked to reply.

I'm very sorry that your wine was out of stock and that we were unable to tell you sooner. I can appreciate how inconvenient this was for you.

The wine was in stock when you placed your order. But, between then and the delivery date, we sold more than expected.

Your wine order comes from a central warehouse, which has a much larger stock. This is why it can be difficult for your local store to substitute the wine. Also, it's hard for us to know a customer's personal preference with regard to wine.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to contact us.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at customer.service@tesco.co.uk quoting TES4118004X.
  • I didnt recieve my order on tuesday as expected. I rang the wine warehouse asking where it was and they said they cancelled the order as it was out of stock (6 cases of la grancha) yes 6!

they said they left a message on my home answerphone which they blatantly didnt do...
I got in touch with customer services and gave them the old rant about why do a promotion if you cant honour it and why did i waste my time and why didnt they inform me bla h blah blah.

the outcome......Yes i have to re order but they are going to honour the original price of £41.00 for six cases and they will deliver next time they are in stock i even got a crime reference number should they !!!! up again!!!

    try complaining it works!

I'm sorry but I just can't believe this is true ......if it is ...its set a precedent and all customers should be treated equally.

If indeed it is true , then perhaps you will allow the rest of us to quote your example so that we may get equal treatment from Tesco.
