Plenty to be cheerful about.
And for that reason is it a done deal? No second referendum?

why do we need more border police
surely the immigrants know what a doomed and failing state the UK will become : why would they want to come here when they have the alternatives available so close at hand0 -
All we got was shallow discussion on migration, online or via media channels.
There was a company featured on the tv this morning based in Bolton.
This company made bakery products and employed 1,000 people.
Over two thirds of employees were European migrants. Most of these have arrived in the last decade+.
Why were locals unwilling or unable to apply? Bolton is a place with a longstanding history of migration from traditional subcontinent places. There has never really been a shortage of labour.
I know from friends who live there that local discontent centres around short term job contracts; zero hours; etc. So you would think 600+ jobs in a solid food business would appeal to people wouldn't you?
Bolton was one of those places which voted to Leave, yet cities/towns like Manchester; Stockport; Liverpool were on the Remain side. So why the difference? If it's a dislike of immigration it surely would not affect a place like Bolton with decades of migration experience.
I always argued on here that it would come down to local issues, and I still think this is true.
Liverpool would have voted Remain because The Sun said vote Leave. The Sun never sets on Merseyside. Also Liverpool has done quite well out of the EU - city of culture and all that.Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.0 -
Well I'm not, I still cannot think of a single reason why I'd want to stay in the country that has been my home for 23 years - most of my adult life. Right now I absolutely hate this place.
I think this is getting a bit tiresome Yolina.
I voted remain and think the leave vote was misinformed and a bad choice. Like you, I am an immigrant on an EU passport and London has been my home for 14 years (more or less, I've worked in other countries during that period). I have no immediate intention to leave unless better opportunities arise elsewhere and/or my sector (finance tech) takes a plunge.
I am critical of the leave campaign and some of the voters but please rethink the sort of stuff you're posting, it does come across as very bitter.0 -
At the moment we have no idea how many illegal migrants are crossing channel on boats but they are and this is likely to increase and we have nowhere near enough patrol boat now.
Definitely agree. We need to strengthn The Coast Guard - make them more like the US coastguard.Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.0 -

and if things turn out really bad, they could stop the UK population from trying to escape (sorry I couldn't resist it, made up stuff for humour).Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Do you think you are typical of EU residents - or do you think some people will leave? Do you think they will go now or wait? I am genuinely interested - i'm not being racist.Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.0 -
