Well, when there are jobs to be filled you'll get immigration. I look at this as a good thing.
It seems a somewhat limited horizon of what constitute 'good' and could suggest you believe in unlimited immigration, as long as there is a single job vacancy (but that would be putting words into your mouth wouldn't it).
But you seem to freely admit the downside of immigration in your personal circumstances, so I do acknowledge that honesty.0 -
People seem happier. What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0

With the coming recession, we might go back to repairing and mending things like shoes, clothes and transistor radios, instead of throwing away/buying new. Less landfill also. That's a positive.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0

Besides it was genuinely the most positive thing I could think of about brexit.

All we got was shallow discussion on migration, online or via media channels.
There was a company featured on the tv this morning based in Bolton.
This company made bakery products and employed 1,000 people.
Over two thirds of employees were European migrants. Most of these have arrived in the last decade+.
Why were locals unwilling or unable to apply? Bolton is a place with a longstanding history of migration from traditional subcontinent places. There has never really been a shortage of labour.
I know from friends who live there that local discontent centres around short term job contracts; zero hours; etc. So you would think 600+ jobs in a solid food business would appeal to people wouldn't you?
Bolton was one of those places which voted to Leave, yet cities/towns like Manchester; Stockport; Liverpool were on the Remain side. So why the difference? If it's a dislike of immigration it surely would not affect a place like Bolton with decades of migration experience.
I always argued on here that it would come down to local issues, and I still think this is true.0 -

For a self confessed practical person you do like to extrapolate into hyperbole territory.0
