Dizzy surfaces, gasping for air....
House bailed out after the almighty thunderstorm last week and insurance company screamed at down the phone. Permission received to get drainage part of the work done as a priority. Replacement bumble being delivered Friday (only nearly a month since a site visit was made to diagnose the problem). Legal threats made in Ice Queen fashion and magically it can and has been sorted.
Small had his first seizure in 9 months after being bowled over by the dogs. DH working away until tomorrow night so I'm doing all the legwork for everything solo. Renewed our insurance for the house for a truly eye-watering premium; savings emptied, beans on toast planned for the rest of the year.
Oh, and I've had a mini breakdown in my spare time. Brain and nervous overload. GP appointment next week if I haven't expired before then.
But, I know I'm not alone in my misery... Jazee - so sorry to hear OldDog is running free. Losing a member of the family is always utterly heartbreaking. Thinking of you xxx
ATB - our food shopping [STRIKE]usually[/STRIKE] always exceeds £450 a month and I try to cook from scratch and we certainly don't have luxury items. Four full-time family, plus two teenage skids at weekends, three huge hounds, nine chickens and six fish (although to be fair, I'm not sure it's the fishes blowing the budget every month :rotfl:)
YL - sending big strong girl hugs. Imagine me with long curly hair, short shorts and a dodgy tash uttering the iconic words "you are not alone" All us lubbly flyladies are here.
And here endeth my post of horror. And, throughout it all, I took two days to drink my bottle of wine. Two days! In the past I'd have quaffed that back in an evening, easily.
I have my Rocky music on and just tying on the gloves as I'll be waking up fighting tomorrow. Having a bubble bath now though. Might paint my toenails....0 -

I know it takes more time and energy, but would it cut your bill if you did the majority of your shop at Aldi and only stuff you can't get there somewhere else?Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Good Morning All,
Narco - its funny you should say that, when I arrived at Aldi yesterday I made the executive decision to do a full shop there and then! With three grumpy small people in tow it was interesting, but I only spent £39 as opposed to the £68 that was in my online shop! As soon as I got home I felt very virtuous, cancelled my online shop and made the resolute decision to try and shop there more. Thank you to all who commented xx
Dancemum - I have visions of something akin to OCCleaners! Well done you for cracking on and getting it done.
YL and Biscuitmonster - you both achieved an awful lot yesterday. Try to take a bit of time, even if just half an hour, for yourselves today xx
Dizzy - oh huge hugs lovely. I really wish we were nearer and could help, even if just to have Tiny for a few hours. Big hugs xxx
Been up since 6 with the littlies, and have unloaded DW, set the WM on and taken the stuff off the undercover line. I have some admin to do and errands to run, quite frankly I just want to sit with a book and tell the world to naff off today, but needs must.
Have lovely days all xxMFW

Morning all.
Dizzy - huge hugs. I hope today is a better day for you.
Yesterday was lost to work and laundry. On the plus side DD did all the ironing last night while we watched the end of the referendum debate and I did some work. Not much other flying got done except tidying up. This morning I have a couple of jobs to do, then I'm off out for lunch with friends, then home via a couple of shops to do more paid stuff.

Right I best get moving as I need to leave here about 10.30. The Queen is in Liverpool so there's bus diversions to contend with and I have no intentions of walking there and back. :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Oh dizzy
So sorry pet xxx
So I've just updated on hmrc gateway my economic activity. Suppose I'll need to do a tax return eventually.
Planned to meet DD teacher after school to ask (again) about her reading as she was given a pink level book this week. Was a very awkward conversation with apparently her view is that DD will struggle to meet the target level. And apparently she can be "really quite mean" and so may not meet the personal / social level either. Apparently teacher "really wants to mark her as achieving but needs to see the behaviours all of the time".
From 5 year olds...
Devastated is not the word! This is DD, who reads her (2yrs older) brothers books with ease, who makes her own little books, who looked after the younger children in nursery.
Disbelief!Bossymoo
