Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

Not a bad price.
Its a shame that price is for is just for 2 months then will go up by upto £10 depending on how Sky do the pricing .
Getting a new deal/ contract so close the April price rises I think they should only put the price up after saying 6 months but that's my opinion.
The cinema tickets are a good deal considering how pricey cinemas are these days.

Hi
Apologies for being off topic but has anyone with an old sky hd box managed to pair a sky viewing with a new box since they changed in late 2024 or do we have to go with Q? It's my dad's box and he won't want to cancel. Is there any cost implications?
Cheers

Apparently you can no longer pair a card with a different HD+ box due to Sky ending an agreement with a 3rd party company. He'd need to speak to Sky about getting a Q box or Stream/Glass.

Q boxes are now OLD HAT with Sky - no new Q boxes are now available !
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -
For new customers perhaps, for an existing one upgrading from HD+ they'll deliver one. And Q may be on it's way out but it's still a better platform than Sky Stream.

"still a better platform than Sky Stream"
Agreed. Much better than Sky Stream.

Spoke to sky this morning and offered Q box no trying to sell stream. Hopefully dad will get on with it ok. Does anyone no if new Freesat boxes are compatible with the wide band LNBs?

Have a look on the Freesat website for confirmation.
I have Sky Q and Enigma 2 sat box on sky dish but I had to buy a different lnb for the installer to fit as they don't supply them.

I think the latest Freesat boxes are.
For example - shows, under "LNBs Supported" a list of "Standard / Wideband / Hybrid / MDU / MDU2"1 -
Is this on a new contract or is it just a box upgrade with an existing contract?
